Sorry to revive an old post. I'm currently trying to trade pokemon between a legit eshop copy of pokemon yellow with a cia version of red, but it keeps crashing/stalling when joining the trade room. Would this patch be the reason why I can't use it? It sort of connects to the other game but then kicks me out on yellow, but as soon as I turn the other 3DS of I get a communication error and it restarts. If this patch would fix this does anyone have a link to it? Since it's no longer up.
Hi, sorry to revive and somewhat dead thread but...
Can someone help me patching Pokemon Crystal Legacy to have wireless functionality on the 3DS?
I managed to get it to the point where the bottom screen changes when talking to the NPC on the second floor of the Pokemon Center and even create a party, but it always ends up in Connection Failure
Do you have Pretendo set up (since Nintendo's online play ended)? Also not sure if the game is compatible with Pretendo or not, meaning if it isn't there won't be any servers for it.

Extract both of the files, then open the NEW SUPER ULTIMATE INJECTOR folder.
You're going to right click the New super ultimate injector for 3DS.exe file then run it as administrator.
Wait for the program to load and click on the game boy color
Then wait until it loads, click the project button then click on load ROM and load your rom.
A menu will pop up saying if you want to search up your rom in the database, just click on no and, configure the banner, the banner color, the position, name, publisher etc or you won't be able to export the CIA file.
After your done with everything click on the injection method and choose GBC Virtual Console with linking.
Now this is the most important STEP, click on import a VC. patch file, the file explorer will pop up, choose the CORRECT PATCH file from the folder you extracted earlier.
Now click project then choose export CIA, the file explorer will pop up, choose where you want the CIA file to be.
Now before you proceed to install the game in your 3ds you need to know this, I've tried this before and there was a problem with my rom and the game got corrupted when I opened it, I do not guarantee this will work, it's supposed to work but still, if you're going to inject a sav file to the game, back up your sav file in a safe place like in your pc, a hard drive, a pen drive wherever you want.
if you have problems with your save when injecting or playing the game, I have some guides on how possible solving it.
@Riker64 I asking senior at the bottom of Import a VC .patch file should I use older version or newer version
Update: I follow your instructions but when I testing it turns out the screen is White can't load, I use Citra Emulator.

It does run VC CIA games in Citra emulator I testing this emulator for GB/GBC(except GBA) games (Including VC .patch but not always work) so yeah it does run and support just Install CIA and done.
Update: I testing patch for Crystal Clear today (in Citra Emulator of course) it works but.... when I go to pkmn center 2nd floor and upon try to trade or battle it said Please Wait... but it won't proceed I stuck I Think the author can't update his/her VC .patch.
