Opinions are definitely split on this one: on another forum I read it's clearly 50/50 too... personally I love them, and certainly prefer them to the metallic ones found on the XL - reminds me of an old SNES pad!

Undecided here - if my current 3DS conks out sometime next year, then yeah I'll replace with one of these for sure, but that'd be the only reason I see in buying one for now... Also I'd be after an XL, and since they only seem to have the metallic colours instead of the SNES style on the regular model, I'm a bit unimpressed....

Undecided. Probably not.

From what we know so far, i see no reason to get the thing. If all it gets are Wii ports i couldn't care less since i can play them all upscaled on my PC. Plus if it gets few exclusives and generally things i can wait, i will just get the true 3ds successor and get whatever i missed through backwards compatibility.

If they release a new 3ds exclusive Advance Wars, i will send them hate mail and death threats, and then go buy the f*ing thing... The no1 reason i got a DS and a 3DS were for turn based strategies... Its the only platform they still thrive...

Dual Strike is one of my favorite strategy games ever. Its a shame the series went the serious route with Days of Ruin.

It is a shame the 3DS hasn't seen many strategy and srpg games. Only worthwhile games in those genres are Fire Emblem and Shadow Wars. There are a couple more but mediocre (ProjectX, Battleship), but in general the 3ds is lacking compared to the original ds and its advance wars, fire emblems, age of empires etc. I don't get why they don't make more of those games... Fire Emblem sold well.

Only because I was going to buy a new (aka original XL) 3DS anyway since my original model 3DS from '11 is in so much disrepair it's not worth saving

Probably not. I already bought one 3DS and it got boring real quick. I don't think I'll need another one with the incentive being a boring JRPG port.

Ill just buy it if a Dragon ball or Pokemon game is realesed for that console and it is not compatible with the old 3ds.
The "New" 3ds design is like the iphone 5 and the name is like the "New" Ipad
