So this week Nintendo announced the 2DS so this weeks poll asks: Will you be buying a 2DS?

Personally I'm waiting for a 3DS revision. I don't mind not having 3D but I do want clamshell design and possibly 2 joysticks. I may purchase a 2DS for my son at some point as I was considering buying him an old DS anyway.

Previous Week - After last weeks Gamescom are you more or less interested in the PS Vita?
Week 10 - Are you looking forward to Gamescom this week?
Week 9 - Which company has the best online infrastructure?
Week 8 - Which is better android or ios?
Week 7 - Which August game release are you most looking forward to?
Week 6 - Will you be buying GTA V?
Week 5 - Will you buy a Gateway 3DS Flashcard?
Week 4 - Which system has the best controller?
Week 3 - Have you preordered a nextgen console yet?
Week 2 - Now MS has backtracked, will you?
Week 1 - Who will sell the most hardware next gen?

If you have an idea for a poll you would like to see on the portal just send me a PM with PPOTW in the title and your questions and answers for the poll.

Why would anybody buy THAT downgraded brick!?
Like my little brother stated quite well "the best use that thing has is to keep the door open when its hot; it has a good shape for it"

No, but only because I have no reason to. I might have bought one for my little laddy if I hadn't just bought him a 3DS XL.

Still cheaper than a new regular 3DS.

I picked other, because I already own a 3DS. If I want to make it a 2DS, I can turn the 3D slider off...

No because I do not find the 3ds a compelling device (no games of the sort I care for and most of the devs that did them on the GBA and DS now doing Android and co and even abandoning the 3ds) and this hardly changes anything. Even if it did though I do not buy on future promise and it needs to demonstrate its actual worth on the day before I even consider it.

To keep it slightly more on topic the lack of a clamshell and a mono speaker mean I would probably leave it alone, I do not have any particular objection to the form factor beyond it is not useful for me.

On the flip side if it turns out to be a far more hackable (either in terms of software or in terms of me soldering things onto it to spread it to other devices) then I might consider it should the "no games" thing be sorted out.

I think it looks interesting. I'd just like to have it for... sentimental... reasons. It's like the GameBoy trilogy: there's the original one, the Color, and then the Advance.

I'm not one for handhelds, but you know, I would be tempted by a cheap alternative to the 3DS. I think the 3D feature is absolutely dumb, and it gives me headaches anyway, so by all means go ahead and cut that out. The final design, though, if just... goofy. Goofy to the absolute max. Redonkulous, if you will.

$130 isn't quite cheap enough to justify that, so I'll just keep out of the handheld game.

As of right now, I'm not gonna downgrade to 2D and mono.

But, probably going to get it later for collection though.

Yes. The 2DS is a new, unique, breathtaking experience that completely redefines the way you play 3DS games.

There wont ever be another 3DS revision, and there wont ever be 2 analog sticks. Get it through your head.
