Y'all this is turning a bit into ridiculing Soru and badgering them for the Beach artwork. There are five other Netpass spots to check into if you don't wanna see that. And indeed the most mature thing to do is to ignore what you don't like and move on, so I don't think continuing the thread with your thoughts on censorship and/or political stances is going to improve anyone's experience with Netpass, let alone your own.
I literally see nothing wrong with the beach artwork, why are people complaining?

Hi, love netpass and how it's revolutionized streetpassing! just curious, is there a way to generate a fake "not accepting travellers" flag for tomodachi life? travellers tend to come much more often than they go, and it makes it difficult to offload them i.e. if a player is planning to abandon a save but doesn't want to trap travellers by doing so. thanks!

Wow. Thanks for your amazing work~
However, pretendo just sent this:
StreetPass Relay
StreetPass Relay was a feature built into the 3DS which allows users to gain "StreetPass'" from other users, even without physically being near them at the time. This worked by using a "StreetPass Relay Point", a wireless access point used by Nintendo Zone to store StreetPass data. When connecting to one of these relays, your console would upload your own StreetPass data as well as download the data of others from that relay.

With our implementation, StreetPass Relay now works GLOBALLY, removing the need to be at a physical access point! You can now passively gain passes with other Pretendo users simply by being online. At the time of writing we already have 59,573 pieces of StreetPass data from 7,464 unique users, ready to be relayed to others!

There are 2 things note, however:
  1. You must be using the latest release of Nimbus for StreetPass Relay to function. Previous versions do not have the correct URL patches for StreetPass Relay. You can download the latest release here https://github.com/PretendoNetwork/Nimbus/releases/latest
  2. Due to the questionable quality of the StreetPass parsers inside games and the fact that StreetPass Relay happens automatically, you can ONLY gain passes with people who you are friends with on the 3DS friends server. You will NOT be able to gain passes from any other users through StreetPass Relay.
Maybe this app may still be useful due to the 3ds friends requirement? I hope so as it worked so well and probably will use this still (and the pretendo just so I can connect to friends.)
I am excited to see what you do next! Wish you luck.

Needing to friend people for Pretendo's relay limits things a bit. I've streetpassed hundreds of different people via Netpass, which is cool.

I think Netpass serves a different use than Pretendo's solution. Pretendo lets you have curated, specific people to streetpass with. Netpass lets you have an enormous, random pool of people to streetpass with. I'll be using both.

Agreed, using both sounds like it'd be fun as well.

I find Netpass offers much more control over how you want to find streetpasses.

I still have not tried Pretendo's way, but I don't find the idea of having dozens of random people on my friend's list all that appealing. While with Netpass I am limited to 10 hour changes to look for different pools of people, I can check the zone I am whenever and however I desire, without having to give my code to others, not to mention I usually get 9 passes every time, which does make the Minigames at the Plaza far more entertaining per session, while Pretendo will give single contacts I suppose.

On the other hand, if Pretendo's way has all players in a single "room" that might help finding connection for those non-nintendo games that tend to have less attention.

All in all, if both can coexist it'd be great, have no intention to stop using Netpass.

I ran the program after its v0.4 update. I received stuff for Bravely Default, Bravely Second (demo) and Plaza.:
- the Seecond demo loaded the pass download only to say the data was wrong. I had to deactivate the Streetpass function for it to delete the datas.
- the Bravely Default simply stated there was nothing even though there was an update alert even in-game. I had to turn its pass off too or else it kept warning there was a Streetpass data to load.
- the Plaza? It warned me with a glow but in-game there's nobody to put in the queue (and the queue seems to be empty, meaning si lost 30 Mii that were waiting).

PS: thanks a lot for your little program.

Version 3.3 still works fine, miis appear on the plaza (I only got 3 though, the beach seems empty today), so people should downgrade until it gets fixed.
Thanks for the information. I'll try that once I've found a way to repair the Mii datas of my console. (StreetPlaza crashed after I checked it, corrupting my main Mii and making the whole Plaza impossible to open without a crash. XD (Guess I've lost all my Mii visitors history for the last ten years -_-)

I will add i'm using netpass mainly for tomodachi life, and so far haven't encountered any issues with the update (i've even had a few exchanges of travellers!)

Heya, thank you everyone for the support!

As you already noticed, v0.4.0 is out by now! It had a bit of a rough start, sadly, but it is now up and functional fully. The issues were exclusively server-side, meaning no need to update the client again :)

This update includes mostly the ability to report bad actors, so yaay. With that finally out of the way, soru can focus again on more bugfixes and features, uwu
