The BBC is attempting to define Musk's label as a problem. Their defense is that the government doesn't fund them, as the government forces its people to foot the bill, so technically, the government isn't funding it--just something worse; ransoming the livelihood of its citizens and forcing them to do the dirty deed.

Who will defend the BBC?

The BBC is supposed to have checks and balances to ensure it stays objective and impartial no matter what party holds the majority at any given time, but as recent world events have shown, "checks and balances" mean jack shit.

But I'm curious. What did BBC do to chafe ole Musky's ass so much?

I don't think the BBC did something in particular, per se. People just have this idea that they aren't government funded, and therefore, a free press. That's objectivity wrong.

Maybe the goal is to chastise the company that did the least offense, so that the general public will be more compulsive in rejecting those who did the greater offenses.

There is a whole bunch of media networks that don't have a label expressing Musk's distaste slapped on their accounts. BBC must have done something to get his panties in a twist and I'm curious to know what.

There is no such thing as a free press, other than maybe pirate broadcasts from international waters.

I think it's both novel and a strategy. When he labels NHK or PBS the same way, people will be like,"oh that makes sense". They literally get paid because the government enforces it. They can't care about people as much as they do of their political influence.

It showed very anti Donald Trump Bias for the last 7 years or so, it's been very much a "Leftwaffe" mouthpiece. It's been pro covid 19 vaccine and shut out anyone with anyone or tried to discredit them when talking about even simple things such as natural immunity etc. It's been Anti-white and pro black, anti-Christian but pro-every other religion. it's been very much trying to force the LGBT crap down every straight persons throat........so yes it's a very bias media organisation that's funded by trying to force anyone that watches regular TV to pay for it (thanks to the government laws forcing people to pay for it).

So it's not just Elon Musk that's annoyed with them, there's a huge amount of people that feel the same way as Elon does - basically the BBC is a left wing propaganda channel nowadays and nothing more. Much in the same way that CNN et cetera, are in the USA.

It seems like people who are anti-trump are very pro-government. Maybe they could say that Trump inspired them to be "brave".

The fact of the matter is that Trump is a politician, and if you clamor to "moar politics" due to his influence, that means he is doing a great job.

But aren't they government funded? You literally have to pay a TV tax to watch them on TV, and the gov sets the tax amount. If you don't pay, Scotland yard will come visit you.

That can be hand waved to an extent as a historical quirk/legacy thing
What gets harder
https://www.bbc.co.uk/aboutthebbc/whoweare/bbcboard
bbc board own article about themselves said:
The Chairman and the non-executive members for the nations are appointed by HM The King on the recommendation of Ministers while the other members of the Board are appointed by the BBC through the Board’s Nominations Committee.

The BBC board for the unaware replaced the governors in 2017.

The previous director general being a lord (as in final vote on laws) prior to appointment as well.

https://bylinetimes.com/2021/01/06/...nated-more-than-400000-to-conservative-party/

Though whether they are a mouthpiece is potentially a different matter (few would argue they don't have a bias for the other party at present) but when appearances count then the nominally claimed independence gets tricky to back up.

Man, the BBC just keeps getting more pathetic and I'm surprised because CNN is usually the number one at that. 😂

BBC is state sponsored TV and people in the U.K. pay a TV tax to watch Live TV/Streaming and/or their streaming app (BBC iPlayer). Well, some pay it as they fear a bailiff will come knocking their door and receive a threat if they don't pay (even if they don't do either of those two things).

This was posted a month ago:

And here's a comment from a person who pays because of that fear:

That just isn't right or normal.

""Probably""
Besides his preferential treatment of the Kremlin, we also know for a fact that Elon Musk receives far more government funds, both personally and through his businesses, than NPR for example. Yet somehow I doubt he's gonna slap a "state-sponsored media" label on all of Twitter. Perhaps his issue isn't that journalism is in part funded by the government, but that it doesn't play all sides to the middle for profit like he does.

How deep is your head embedded in your asshole? The first thing Musk did after buying Twitter was expose it as being government propaganda.

If it wasn't before he bought it, it certainly is now. Only difference is that Musk puts several governments in a bidding war for his love, megalomaniac that he is.
