Hi,

New to modding. Anyways i've got BootMii installed to boot2, DVDX and the HBC installed. Backed up the NAND flash, now just wondering all the CIOS that I need?
For example I know cIOS38Rev13 is one I need. If anyone could help i'd appreciated it. Also, while i'm writing, whats the best backup launcher to get to load backups from DVD? Does it have a specific name?

Here is a link to cIOS rev13. Unzip and rename it to boot.dol and put it in its own folder inside of SD:/apps/ and run it from withing the HBC

Is it hard? Do i have to install any of my games/channels again? Does it change anything? The reason im asking is because im using USB Loader GX and i was told that the newest cIOS is causing me some bugs mainly i cannot run more than one game in a session or it freezes my Wii and i was told to go back to 10 or 12 and i have no idea how to do it.

Any help would be AMAZING!

It's really quite simple. All you have to do is run the installer. It will overwrite whatever cIOS you previously have. So here is a link to rev12, my personal favorite. After you install it, your loader will still work fine, and all of the games that worked with 13b will also work with 12.

Quick question: has anybody found a way to control the system menu with a GC controller, or is that theoretically impossible?

Edit: Also, I have a question about making a backup of my NAND data with BootMii. I'm running a 4.0 sysmenu with Preloader installed; am I gonna run into any problems putting BootMii on my Wii? I've heard that BootMii and Preloader don't get along well.

I haven't been around the scene for a while now, I have a Wiikey 1st generation with version 1.9s running on a 3.1U Wii... If I wanted to play a newly released game how should I go about doing so? Just update from the disk or how should I burn it? Will my Wiikey stay functional although the Wii is updated? Are mod-chips outdated since all of the softmods to wii?

I've got a US launch wii with system menu 3.2u. I stopped doing any nintendo offical updates after that.

I added the homebrew channel with the original twilight hack.
I've updated the homebrew channel to the latest version.

I've installed bootmii .02 (boot2) and made a backup of my nand.

I've installed cios 38 rev13b (probably going to downgrade to rev12 for now.)

I've installed USB Loader GX and I can backup and run games from my USB hard drive.

I have not updated (and can't use currenly) the wii shop channel.

Questions:

How can I figure out what IOSs are already installed on my system?

Will the newer games that I run from the USB Loader GX try to install the newer IOS files on my system? (I'm assuming I shouldn't let that happen)

What is the safest way (leaves me the most options for the future) to update my IOS files so games will not try to update for me?

Do I need to install preloader for any reason?

Should I be using Waninoko's 4.0 updater to do any of this? Or something like WiiSCU? (I don't really care about the 4.0 system menu options, but if it's easiest just to manually update to 4.0 I'm happy to do so.)

I've looked at the ultimate 4.0 guide, but I'm not sure all those steps apply to my situation.

Any help much appreciated!

Wanting to update my Wii to 3.2 or 4.0 WITHOUT Wifi.

Here are the IOS I have so far..

IOS (Only going to type this 1 time)
4,9,11,12,13,14,15,17,20,21,22,28,30,31,33,34,35,36,37,38,249 and I do have ios38rev13b loaded onto my Wii.

Reason I want to update it so I can install SoftMii. Remember, no Wifi.

It's called the Search tab my friend. However I will point you in the right direction. Search: Ultimate 4.0 Guide, it's got how to upgrade online and offline.

AnyTitleDeleter will show everything you have installed, including IOSs. Just be sure not to delete anything.

When you launch them from USB, they ignore the update partition, so it wont bother you about updated. If the game does require any additional IOS, the game simply wont boot.

To install the missing IOS, the easiest way is to google for the wad and use wad manager. You could also rip the update off the disc yourself if you know what your doing.

If you arent going to use any of the hacks from it, then no.

Waninkoko's 4.0 updater, doesnt install the game IOSs. An official nintendo update will get you all new IOSs. Your best bet is just to manually install the IOSs you need and not worry about 4.0 unless you want the menu options

Downgrading isnt really necessary anymore. You can install a cIOS staying on 4.0 and from there get anything.

2. If you use the link i posted, you stay on 4.0, no need to upgrade
3. All your saves will be untouched, backup everything on your SD card before doing this. All your channels will be untouched.

The strange thing is, Gecko OS said I was missing IOS 53 when I first ran it, and it installed the wad for me. I've manually installed 38 and 55 as well, but it still doesn't seem to work. Maybe I need different versions of them..
I am using versions: IOS38-64-v3610.wad, IOS55-64-v4633.wad.. unsure about the version installed by Gecko OS. Maybe I need IOS 37
Also, I'm using cIOS rev 13b if that has any effect.
