Hi everyone, I’m new to gba as you can see, I’ve been making homebrew for learning, and then I found myself remaking the unofficial build luma, obviously just for fun, but I learned a few new things, btw I’m here to make it available for who want to use it.
you can find it here the nightly build:
https://nightly.link/Alexyo21/CustomLuma3DS/workflows/build/master/CustomLuma3DS-nightly.zip

Restored basic rosalina combo except for debug build, it's easier this way...

Polari3ds updater

Twl patch

Or the other one
https://gbatemp.net/download/twl-redirection-to-sd-with-more-fuctionality.38297/

Forget to mention on my GitHub you can find more builds.

italian version(versione italiana) Grazie mille Simo:
https://gbatemp.net/download/customluma3ds-ita.38321/
https://github.com/Simo3ds/CustomLuma3DS-ITA

P.S. forgot to say, the boot.3dsx inside the release it’s a custom build, with pirate theming.
At least you know what’s even that

For streaming you can also use ntrview on wiiu or snickerstream on pc, maybe I’ll release a guide or something.
find here the rosalina with streaming capabilities:

https://gbatemp.net/download/rosalina-sysmodule-for-streamers.38325/

also here the openagbfirm my own version

Discord channel for project, still has to set up some things, but for testing.

Why are you releasing a modified version of Luma3DS? Nobody knows what sort of changes you've made, you could've placed a bricker in the firmware for all I know. What's wrong with the latest Luma3DS release?
Just the time to make the read.me and your questions will be answered, I’m new to the forum so I understand your concerns. I made this version noob prof also useful for advanced user so no problem. I’m a bit lazy writing the commit though… forget to say all the code is on GitHub. Though I couldn’t link cause I’m new to the forum… sorry about that.

Why not? I did Puma33DS back then
1- for the memes
2- because I was dissatisfied with the forced patches (mainly region free) it imposed
3 but should be 0- to see if I could :D
If I tell you that this are pretty good reasons, btw so you are the creator of puma3ds it’s my pleasure.

What kind of changes did you made? I can't find your repository and still you have to write the read.me
I'm not impatient, usually people write at least basic information to make an announcement.

Hi, I’m making another update soon so I’ll make the read.me with that release

A lot of things are wrong with the current Luma
That said, the changes are right here
https://github.com/Alexyo21/CustomLuma3DS
Please don’t discourage people

Oh, now i see. Very interesting. Sometime i wished to stream 3ds over wifi, also some friend of mine asked it.
Really usefull stuffs.

Is there anything especially "wrong" that wasn't "wrong" before?

(I guess it would be kind of nice if the error messages were more informative, but I expect I lack the experience to have an informed opinion on that particular UX adventure.)

I mean:
Press A + B + X + Y + Start to instantly reboot the console. Useful in case of freeze, but don't complain if your sdcard get corrupted because of this.
You couldn't put that in the official Luma because I am 100% certain people would complain even if you told them not to.

Autocopying the boot.firm to the nand
Regularly breaking compatibility with other homebrew
The current AIO direction of the latest updates
Many of these aren’t new but the fact that the Luma team seems to refuse to listen to anyone on many issues, forks are the best means of addressing them

Neat!
I like it when people edit opensource software to fit their needs. I can see some of the edits of Rosalina useful imho.

Isn't this so you can always access Luma3DS even if your SD Card fails?

Regularly breaking compatibility with other homebrew
Any idea what causes them to break? Major changes in the Luma code?

Regardless of the reason, it should come with consent from the user. The fact that the user isn’t informed and it just happens is the problem.

The breaks are often changes in the Luma code and recently announced that they may potentially continuing breaking compatibility in future releases
https://github.com/LumaTeam/Luma3DS/releases/tag/v13.0.1

The Luma team has been actively trying to replace homebrew like TWPatcher for quite some time now. Although I don’t care if they make their own built in version, I would prefer being able to disable or not have it at all. Unfortunately, the Luma team continues to bake in these kinds of changes and makes it harder for the user to have control over features they don’t want to use. This has been an issue for years with Luma3DS

Oh I didn't know that. Oh well, I haven't used my 3DS(es) in a couple of years so I'm way behind.

Can you elaborate on why this is, or could be, a negative? I'm personally quite grateful for that feature. Is there a reason I shouldn't be?
You can be fine with that but I think it should come with consent from the user and not automatically happen. It also makes it a little more difficult to just test features and updates without then needing to go back and replace the boot.firm. I personally don’t want the Luma team acting like they know what’s best for the users

It's not clear how that's a problem? The 3DS is only going to load the version on the NAND if it can't find boot.firm on the SD card, right?

Who else is dealing with the legions of users who get cryptic error messages when their 3DS suddenly starts booting an outdated version of Luma on the NAND?

The issue is consent. The user should be informed and asked if they want this happen to their system, not have the Luma team assume they do. I would prefer not to have Luma3DS making any modifications to my system that I did not consent to. Since this is becoming circular, I will stop here. I understand the community might not see an issue in this but there are those of us who do
