If you're in Europe, you're going to have to wait just a little while longer for the Sega Mega Drive Mini. Sega has delayed the release of their classic mini console by two weeks, citing "unavoidable logistical challenges". Now, the system will launch on October 4th, while North America will receive the Genesis Mini on September 19th. Also included in the delay are any Middle Eastern territories. When the Mega Drive Mini does release, it'll come with 42 different games, such as Sonic 1 and 2, Shining Force, Road Rash 2, Castle of Illusion, a never before released port of Darius, Comix Zone, and more, along with two controllers.

So it implies it isn't sentient and won't jump in your pocket by itself, you know ?

The extra time they need to "optimize" the games for 50hz?

In today’s world of HDTV’s, this no longer matters???

They owe the emulator fairy some money so they’re digging around the sofas.

Logistical challenges in business terms means some kind of shipping issue, e.g. they haven't been able to produce enough to supply the European market or they're physically held up somewhere along the line or something like that. It's unlikely they're making any changes, they probably just can't get them into stores on the previously announced date.

It doesn't but the PSC by default shipped with 50hz crap and that was HDTV supported, so it's possible the MDC might be the same for PAL regions.

I think it's rather zealous EU customs officers who keep on fighting against Asian imports... If you miss to submit the shipment costs the friendly officers will find one 10x more expensive from the catalogue and calculate 19% tax on top of that... Recently I ordered from Satisfye and they "failed to provide sufficient details about the shipment" so I had to go to the customs office, open the package in front of them so they could conclude that no customs apply though still had to pay the 19% sales tax, shipping included... I ordered from China and Singapore to Germany and Poland multiple times - it's a real lottery with the lovely people.

    It's not that bad.
I really want one but I hope they don't use the 50hz versions of the games.
    Please don't do it SEGA...

Let’s not hope that it is the same as the Sega Genesis “Classic Game Console” made by AtGames

They could have released the Mega Drive Mini next year instead, citing that 2020 is the 30th anniversary of the European release of the MD.

I might buy both a European and American model, keep the 6 button, and then sell the European one with the American 3 button.
