The Sega Mega Drive Mini has been delayed slightly for Europe

If you're in Europe, you're going to have to wait just a little while longer for the Sega Mega Drive Mini. Sega has delayed the release of their classic mini console by two weeks, citing "unavoidable logistical challenges". Now, the system will launch on October 4th, while North America will receive the Genesis Mini on September 19th. Also included in the delay are any Middle Eastern territories. When the Mega Drive Mini does release, it'll come with 42 different games, such as Sonic 1 and 2, Shining Force, Road Rash 2, Castle of Illusion, a never before released port of Darius, Comix Zone, and more, along with two controllers.

Logistical challenges in business terms means some kind of shipping issue, e.g. they haven't been able to produce enough to supply the European market or they're physically held up somewhere along the line or something like that. It's unlikely they're making any changes, they probably just can't get them into stores on the previously announced date.

"unavoidable logistical challenges" ?! it's a fucking emulator in a plastic shell!
I think it's rather zealous EU customs officers who keep on fighting against Asian imports... If you miss to submit the shipment costs the friendly officers will find one 10x more expensive from the catalogue and calculate 19% tax on top of that... Recently I ordered from Satisfye and they "failed to provide sufficient details about the shipment" so I had to go to the customs office, open the package in front of them so they could conclude that no customs apply though still had to pay the 19% sales tax, shipping included... I ordered from China and Singapore to Germany and Poland multiple times - it's a real lottery with the lovely people.

Actually, that works out pretty good for me, I won’t be at home the week it was originally planned to launch.

Let’s not hope that it is the same as the Sega Genesis “Classic Game Console” made by AtGames

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
