In Leaf (and older) villager homes couldn't be altered by the player, aside from maybe what you gifted to them, and their locations were random too. This, combined with villagers not being total yes-men, made them feel like they had free will, especially since they could leave at any time without telling you. Not the case in Horizons - everything's up to the player's control, you slave owner you.

Plus, Leaf had a lot more proper shops too, and more Nook's Store upgrades; most of them were in the main street north of town, but the refurbishment store was located in town, as was the cafe from memory. Horizons has very few separate establishments in comparison. Leaf also had more personality via Resetti's rants...if you rebuild his PWP, anyway.

Sure, quite a few PWPs were randomly obtained in Leaf, but that's nothing compared to Horizon's crafting recipes - good luck getting all of them. Tools, particularly golden ones, now break in Horizons, when they didn't in Leaf.
Just a lot of unnecessary changes, that give Horizons a "different energy" - one I'd like to avoid, really.
ughh computers are even worse for recording, i had a nice configuration in REAPER for a while and then i open it and suddenly everything's reset. what am i to do at this point....
working with tape machines a bit again. i really need to remember to record a bit louder so it's not as noisy during quieter parts....

I tend to use a headphone amplifier through the line in, since my tape recorder doesn't have a recording level.

what do you mean it doesn't have a recording level ?

As in this is a very old tape recorder, merely designed for loading games off cassette, tapes only record in mono. There's no meter and/or buttons to tell whether you've adjusted the levels correctly. There's also a remote port on the side, too.

haven't had much luck repairing the tape recorder. i might move to a digital multitrack recorder for a while, but i dunno what to do with the reels of tape i still have lol.

i don't really know but it won't record anything lol. the machine still turns on though, so it's probably not some huge electrical failure
transport controls still work fine too.

I would double-check for any corroded traces first before confirming that its not the hardware which is faulty, as many old electronics do be like that. When I got a really vintage cassette player from a flea market, opened it up to check for damage, the wires were starting to break and traces starting to rot. I had to remove parts of the solder mask and weld the connections back together.

mostly the connections seem to be good condition for its age. i think maybe the playback/record head is bad bc it doesn't look to be in great shape (kinda flat looking), and that'd explain why neither things work lol.
also i don't think tape heads are easy to find for this unit. i could try cleaning it (like channel cards and such) but i feel like if that was the issue then at least 1 track would have some output....

I always get the problem of my pfps being half cut off. Usually it works after a couple tries though.

if anyone has ever wondered what SMPTE timecode sounds like, here it is.. i turned down the volume for ear safety but still headphone warning if you really like things way too loud. though probably if that is the case you don't care about ear health, so good luck lol
