Just getting some opinions out there ; how did you all liked "back to the future" ? In my opinion, it was inovative, a never seen before technological achievement, but the technology at that time was kinda limited, so was the product ; but fear not, "back to the future 2" will be way better that the first one, with more advanced tech to back it up

Newer 3ds game use 9.6 key to encrypted, no current flashcard can run them directly so it need to decrypt

Awesome- last thing, would using that ropCustom MSET thing be a better solution for me (I can't seem to find much about it but it sounds like it would let me load both Launcher.dat and rxTools.dat)? Or do I need FBI on SysNAND anyways in order to play AGB_FIRM games?

You need FBI on sysnand only if your nands are unlinked. You can launch both Launcher.dat and rxTools.dat but not with the same msetROP, you have to reinstall the other one all time you want to switch.

Just got an error when using FBI.3ds file while in Gateway SysNAND mode trying to install FBI.cia file. Any ideas? Do I need to install something else with it?

- In your SD card, there should be a Nintendo 3DS folder. Open it, and open the folder inside that. There should be another, so open that too. You should see a "exdata" folder.

- Make a new folder (not inside the "exdata" folder, but in the same directory as it) called “dbs”. Go into the folder and make two blank text files, named “title.db” and “import.db”.

- Put the SD back into the 3DS, start it, go to the data management into your 3DS settings, try to check your installed stuff and let the 3DS repair the database.

- Then try again, it will works.

Exact, and no, no way. But the one that's your emunand should already have these two files, and not your sysnand.

Yes. those are EmuNand and SysNand folders. Both EmuNand and SysNand will need dbs folder with import.db & title.db . There is no way to identify for sure by your description, unless you remember the date&time when you format emuNand or format Sysnand (during the unlinking process), which can be used to compare with the date&time the folder created.

Remember to unlinked if you want to keep anything you previously installed on EmuNand or you delete it when you go to data management - 3DS software on Sysnand.

Error with injection on 4.X, try that :

If you want to stay at 4.2, you should wait for others to help you with injecting FBI.

If you may want to use devmenu_2.0 as alternative or update to 9.2 (require devmenu_2.0 to install syupdater and update), you can install PBT: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-pasta-cfw-without-cubic-ninja-mset-4-x-old3ds.389498/ (download the package from the second video description on Youtube. Cool, that worked. I went to go install rxTools MSET and then went to Profile as usual and got this error trying to launch Nintendo DS Profile. Any ideas?

What is the rxtools build you use? Try to use the latest bin.code and reinstall mset.
