about damn time i put my hands around this one! i kept getting distracted by other homebrew (CBDS, and my 200+mb 20th Century Boys manga), but now that i'm done reading that, i'll be freeing up a lot of space for new homebrews (mainly this, that Nyan Cat which drives me nuts, and Robot Unicorn Attack which drives me nuttier).

Only one thing you have to change: The "Space Impakto DS" font shape on the bottom screen is horrible ;/
I understand you are a coder. Your coded effects look cool. Please just change this to something plain. (SPACE IMPAKTO DS or so;)

Otherwise, really good work and I hope you get one of the prices! :)

This game is really awesome! It's a little too hard for me, but the production values are very strong and I really like what you've done with the art style.

It's really fun to play.

But I suck at it and am glad it has so many lives and continues. My hiscore is 354200. Or is that the default hiscore?:]

I like the 3D backgrounds.. but I noticed something strange in the level with this big black "hole" at the right side - when some enemies move in and out of it they become invisible. Is it intended like that?

Nope, the default highscore is like 500k now.

The "big black hole" is a bug which has been rectified. DS 3d engine has no way of disabling depth testing so I had to play around with my projection matrix a lot.



UPDATE:

The final enemy sequence(stages 1 - 4) are done and reactivated the replay system as well as a slew of other stuff.

I usually prefer regular shmups as opposed to the bullet-hell type, but I'll give it a go. Shmups are one of the genres I started really sucking at after losing an eye. I can't track all the action like I used to......

Minor nitpick: why not make the score and hi-score fonts a lot bigger than they are? The bottom screen is kinda useless if you don't do it :/

Yeah, the Japs are crazy with their shmups. I could never finish extra on ketsui DS. ;*(

Will do the font thing. Thanks for the feedback.

This game is awesome! I played the first two levels, died about a hundred times, but that didn't make it any less fun.

I should ask that the boss timer be a little longer; I feel that I was only barely able to kill the first boss before the timer got to 0. I don't know what exactly happens when the timer reaches 0, but if it kills the player I only barely made it. Then again, that might just be because I died so often and my weapons weren't all that strong..

Also, you say the source is included in the download, but it's not.

Anyway, keep it up, and good luck!

When the boss timer runs out, you don't get extra score so you have to kill the bosses in the allotted time.
