Is WiiSX same as WiiSXR? I'm looking at this compatibility list right now:

https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/WiiSX_compatibility_list_(beta_1)

Does FF7 work on WiiSXR?
That's the old list, for wiisx beta1.

What you want is the Beta2.x list here :
https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/WiiSX_compatibility_list_(beta_2)

I'll write something in the beta1 wiki page so it's easy to know it's an old compatibility list.

Edit:
Wellllll..... it was already on the page.
I'll still add that it's NOT wiisxr compatibility.

to answer your question, a user told me he played FF7 for few hours, I don't know if he had issues but its speed is better with the new CPU speed patch.

can i launch a wiiware title with this script? or are future versions of this script going to implement wiiware launching?
I probably won't support this in my script until after the full-script re-write (yes that's still a thing I'm working on)

@KhaderWelaye I don't suppose there's any way to remove manuals from the injected game is there? If so this should be added to the inject script, as of now it's including a link to nintendo's xenoblade chronicles manual, which is kind of unnecessary.
This was actually one of the VERY first things I tried to do, but I can't figure out for the life of me where the manuals for the WiiVC titles are stored. It HAS to just be a link to a PDF on Nintendo's website somewhere, and it's not like the other VC types where the manual is embeded in the game. (My JNUSTool download process doesn't even include the manual stub file when building the game).

So if I figure out how I'll do it, but not for now :(

in meta.xml line 33 node <e_manual type="unsignedInt" length="4">1</e_manual>
had you tried to put 0 instead of 1 ?

I haven't, I guess I was aiming to replace the manual instead of disabling it completely but disabling it actually is probably the better option here if that flag actually works, can you confirm for me? If so I will push a small change to the script today.

I have a weird problem. In vWii, I can't get Nintendont to work anymore; it crashes whenever I click SD. This is technically fine, because the VC injects work perfectly. However, I don't know how to get a nincfg.bin to make my injects autoboot. Any ideas? Also, will I need to repack all of the injects I've installed so far to change them to autoboot?

is Wii U Gamepad Support in injected Not64 possible?
No its not unfortunately, you have to use your wiiremote in and plug your classic controller in the back or I think you can use a wiiu classic remote. I'm surprised the guys behind not64 haven't implemented this in an update they did it with wiisxr so it must be possible.

Hey man figured it out. Apparently I wasn't reading the instructions on the 1st page regarding the installation of wii homebrew forwarders. I installed in on USB where it was supposed to be on the NAND for the overclock to work.

Works like a charm right now especially the Interpreter mode. Can't believe I'm playing FF7 on my Wii U. Thanks man!

Does someone knows where to get a packed forwarder of WiiSXR with cafe2wii patch?, i had one made by me that worked fine, but in the latest modification made i mixed the boot.dol with the Nintendont one, and i cant make anything because my laptop is out of service for now.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
