I will no longer make updates for the wiiu version of the game as I have moved to the switch version. Any possible enhancements or other mods will be for xcx:de.

As many of you know, Nintendo has shut down the online server for the WiiU on April 8 2024. For games like Xenoblade Chronicles X (XCX) it does not only mean that it’s online capabilities have been hampered, but also parts of single player. To remedy the effects of the later I’ve decided to mod the game a little bit.
What does this mod do?
1. Preserving online missions and enhancing support and time attack missions
- A selection of the online missions from squad tasks have been transferred to the support category, which is still available offline. That means that you can still earn tickets for those missions.
- The global nemesis missions have been transferred to the time attack category. (still tweaking them)
- You can now use skells in all time attack missions.
- Due to space limits, the old support missions have been kicked except for one (the last miranium money mission). All their benefits have been incorporated into several other missions. Now all missions, support and time attack, yield affinity (about 20 missions yielded one heart).
- The droprates of materials are no longer based on luck and quantities have been increased. this should make farming for glyphs easier.
- If some of you know the XCX-Cut-Content-Mod, my mod also restores the cut time attack missions.
2. Casual wear is now really for fashion only
Selling junk in the shop was always a problem in this game because the filters weren't very good. And if casual wear is in between, that you want to keep, it is very difficult to go fast through and sell everything worthless. Casual wear has now been modified to have only 1 defense. This puts it always at the bottom of every category. All of it (except buyable stuff) has a slot so you could put augments in them as a failsafe for accidentally selling. Character name armor is now considered to be casual wear too.
3. Several augments have been tweaked (work in progress)
- Chances for skell melee auto-attack augments have been raised. Any skell auto-attack weapon have been useless compaired to the disklaucher (I'm still trying to figure out how to unglitch that one). Doubling the chances for skell melee auto-attack augments should make them more look like an alternativ.
- Treasure sensors have their chance doubled. They are also easier to get now since one of the new support missions has a Millepod. This should allow more armor setups.
4. Appendages targeting tweak
- Only Sakuraba and Meredith m-missiles could self-target appendages. Now Granada Galactic and Orphean m-missiles and Sakuraba and Meredith s-missiles can do that too. The damage attribute of those missiles have been changed to represent their makers more.
SA: thermal GG: beam ME: ether GA: gravity
- I intend to change every other guided-multi-warhead-single-target-system to have this ability.- From the regular arts only fire carnival could self-target appendages. Now missile volley can do it too.
5. Weapons and Armor tweaks
- Phoenix got nerfed. The Phoenix was overpowered even compared to the superweapon alternatives. Fuel consumption have been raised to 1000 and
range reduced by 25%.
- Work in progress. More nerfs and enhancments will come.
6. Story tweaks
- Several regular missions have been shifted from chapter 9 to chapter 7.
- Phog and Frye can I have their reunion mission in chapter 7. This will give earlier access to their special arts.
- Boze's and HB's missions can now be finished in chapter 7 to get their skells sooner.
- Alexa's skell can now be acquired in chapter 9.
- I intend to make Ares70 available in chapter 9 and the Lvl60 and Ares90 skells in chapter 9 to 11.
7. Probe enhancement
- Are you also sick of mining more miranium then your storage can take?
Storage probes now have a capacity of 10,000 instead of 3000.
- Booster probe I doubles efficiency. Booster probe II triples efficiency.
New in version 2.0
8. Class and Companion tweaks
- Class slots, and class boosts to attribute have been brought more in line with each other.
- All companions now have four skill slots, except for Nagi.
- They also have now the boost from a top class of their designated path. See the .ods file.
- Companions learn all skills of the designated path.
9. Blueprints
I always find it very stupid and in many cases not logical that most of the blueprints were suddenly unlocked after chapter 12. Therefore I have put many of them as mission rewards into several missions.
- Ares70 is unlocked through “a girls wings”. Ares90 is unlocked through chapter 11 mission with Lao completed.
- Blueprints for the other skells Can be acquired from various missions in chapter 12.
- You could acquire super weapon blueprints from the mid tier before chapter 12 is completed, but you could not acquire the lowest tier. I have put the low tier blueprints into missions from chapter 9 to 12.
10. Extra Content
- There are several multi gun versions that cannot be found in the game. I have put them as rewards into missions from Yelv or professor B since they were introduced with Yelv’s DLC and are factory 1.21 products. The cosmic and nebulan variants are being dropped by Marnuck Dynamos. Why Marnuck Dynamos? Because they are high enough level and seems to be an odd enough group among the enemies so that they may have access to or collect special weapons like multi guns.
- There’s actually a superweapon for the level 20 skell. It’s a Hexad-Partican 120. There is no blueprint and the gun cannot be found in game. I couldn’t resist and put it as a reward into a mission for those who still have the basic starter skell.
11. Tweaks to stats and descriptions
- Several arguments had a description like low, high, very high and so on chance. Sadly, the chances behind them were not uniform. for example, very high could mean a chance of 50% in one case and 100% in another. That is a very big difference. I made it so that the chances are displayed as numbers.
- Several affix drops for weapons have been changed. Some weapons were less useful than others because some manufacturers could not have certain stats affixes. That has been changed. I have added a table of the affixes. See the .ods file. (still tweaking)
- Affixes from superweapons and blueprint groundgear have been changed or tweaked to represent the weapon better. For example the trident anchor, an electric weapon, no longer buffs ether but electric damage.
- I have started to kick out enemy critical affixes As they are completely useless and a waste of slots. I either replace them with slayer affixes or critical all.
12. Drops for Telethia squad missions have been optimized.
13. Shop tweak
Since normal RPG and story play has become more important because of the discontinuation of online services, I have made changes to some shop items to make story play more interesting. For example you will no longer find experience and treasure sensor affixes on shop items. Instead you can find them now on headgear drop by enemies. This makes crafting the arguments more valuable. In case of Candid & Credible one does not need to wait until the company is level 5 to get treasure sensors and one is not stuck with C&C for farming gold gear. The former affixes have been replaced with ones that can aid you during gear hunting and story progression.
14. Animation tweaks
- I changed the animations for multi missiles to represent their element better.
15. I have switched to the Aroma environment and recommend it for everyone.
- It is easier and faster to install mods on Aroma then on Tiramisu and should pretendo make online services for xcx available you will need it anyway. You can find guides for switching from tiramisu to aroma on multiple pages, including that of pretendo.
- If you have Aroma press L+down+Select to open the plug-in configuration menu inside the wiiu menu. Now go to “ftpiiu” and set “enable ftpiiu” and “allow access to system files” to true. From then on you can access your wiiu from the windows, explorer by typing.
Installation instructions
• To install the mod you need a hacked WiiU with Tiramisu and the app “FTPiiU everywhere” or a hacked WiiU with Aroma (recommended).
• Your WiiU needs access to your network.
• For Tiramisu open the app on the WiiU. You should see an IP address. (You have to repeat this step every time you want to upload something to your WiiU)
• For Aroma press L+down+Select inside the WiiU menu to open the plug-in configuration menu. Now go to “ftpiiu” and set “enable ftpiiu” and “allow access to system files” to true. From then on you can access your WiiU from the windows explorer when ever it is on and online.
• Open an Explorer window in Windows and type into the address bar "ftp://<ip address the WiiU displays>”
Example: ftp://192.168.172.31
Now navigate to the game directory.
- If it is installed on the WiiU it is in "storage_mlc -> usr -> title -> 0005000e -> 101c4c00 -> content"
- If it is installed on an USB device it is in "storage_usb -> usr -> title -> 0005000e -> 101c4c00 -> content"
Past the bdat.cpk in their and click yes, when asked to replace.
Many thanks goes to
