Hi,

I have a Switch Lite that cannot init SD card. I've got an error 2016-0641.

I've tried multiple SD card, same behavior (these cards works on an other switch).

I've replaced SD card reader, and I still got the issue.

No missing components.

I've got 1 donor board, I'll try to swap components near sd card reader.

Anyone know what can I check please ?

Thank you

It might be that part of connector on the motherboard detached itself (or at least some required pin).
If you done some other work then check whether you're not missing some components.

This is a Switch Lite so there is no connector, reader is soldered to motherboard.

Hi, I've swapped with a donor board the 4 composant up the sd reader and still the same issue.

I should've I've said previously, I did a reflow on the cpu because of blue screen, is this possibly related ?

I've followed all sd reader pin, all of them goes directly to the CPU, except one that I find on the other side, it's the pin4 / VDD, I'll check tomorrow i'f I got 3.3v on it.

So, I don't have 3.3v on pin 4! If I followed trace, it goes on this little IC, it seems a mosfet, I've compared with a working switch, here is what I got when a SD card is plugged in:

I see no short on it or close, I've replaced it anyway, same issue.

UPDATE : I'm supposed to get 1.8v on the left pin of the little transistor up to the mosfet when a SD card is plugged, but I've got nothing. The trace goes directly under the CPu so I'm gonna try to reflow it again and see.

Not better with reflow, I think CPU is half-dead, or I Should reball it but it's out of my competences.

That is a n-channel mosfet it is most likely the problem . Thumb drives have them built into them they pass voltage to a serial bus that IDs it as external storage . Sdcards are big enough to house one so the reader has to have one .
