Splatoon.wud is 24 gb but rpx is 1.96 gb ! how ?
I Gues it removes everything that for example the wux would remove... to quote exzap concerning the compression:
''How does it work?
It detects duplicate sectors and only stores them once. Essentially this leads to all the empty ranges being shaved off, storing only ranges which contain file or filesystem data.
Although the algorithm is simple, it works really well. In almost all cases it will reduce the size by more than 50% (12GB+!)''

I think there was a YT video of @Miguel Gomez where he describes how to update ...
found it!

Ahhh update to WUD, this is currently not possible...updates/dlc only work for rpx atm.
Don't worry. Me and Brian are working together on searching for answers to make RPX files back to encrypted WUD/WUX files.

As for DLC, I think KillzXGaming mentioned waaaaaay back few pages ago. But he didn't actually say "Unlock DLC" but rather try to crack the code of some DLC file(I forgot).

If I remember correclty it was more like 'replace content in the folder structure with the dlc content' instead of a real unlock. But down the core you could say its almost 'the same'
The rxp back to wud/wux sounds great =D

Hi boys!

This emulator runs on single core thread?
I have an 3.4 Ghz i3 and a Nvidia GTX 750, i'm downloading Mario 3D World for some tests,
do you think guys, my processor is enough to run games for now or in the future development?
Thanks!

So I'm seeing an improvement on 1.4.1 on MK8 on my setup, from 45-50 in 1.4.0c to 50-60 on 1.4.1. Theres some texture issues, sky issues and menus but it is looking great at this rate

you are alone i am having same issue. which AMD driver are you using?
I have catalyst 15.11.1 and radeon 5850 - same issue. MK8 - updated RPX version, on 1.4.0 everything is ok.
As I already reported a page or so ago, I can get around this by disabling vertex caching whilst the first map is loading.
I have 16.3.1 but still doesn't work even disabling Vertex Cache. So is this a known issue with AMD...

Try using this:

@LitchiTheCat made a script that binds Xbox360 controllers to keyboard inputs. Maybe it works for your controller as well.
It rebinds the buttons on your controller to be represented by keyboard keys. It might work directly with one of the profiles he's premade (e.g the Xbox360 profile), or you might find a profile online for your gamepad specifically. Anyway, just open a profile in the program that's included in the .zip, and press Run.
Go into Cemu. Select input device as Keyboard. And use the gamepad to set the keys. When it asks for D-pad up, and you press D-pad up on your controller, it'll show up as a keyboard key (like "K" for example), this is correct. Fill out all the keys, and you should be set.
Works like a charm for me, and even lets me use all the triggers on the Xbox-controller (they don't work natively).

PS, in PIEFree, before you press Run, you can edit and save different inputs. Like, you can set them to different keys, if you want to.
I went and gave it a try, however, it seems GlovePIE isn't even detecting my controller...

Tbqh I'm really not sure if it's an issue with AMD GPUs, I haven't messed with any extra steps this time around and I'm using 16.4.1 when I made the various MK8 videos in my sig. The only difference being that with 1.4.1 I don't need to use the AMD 16.2.1 opengl dll workaround.

Edit- Hmm, if you were using the AMD opengl 16.2.1 dll workaround in Cemu 1.4.0c, when you extracted Cemu 1.4.1 did you use the same folder and/or remove the 16.2.1 dlls?

Are you using EUR or USA version? And what kind of file are you loading (Rpx, wux, wud)?

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.

It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
