Hacking R4DS Just got it delivered!

To those people who are anxiously waiting for their R4DS to arrive,
rejoice!!

I've tested about 3 ROMs until now.

On R4DS there is no speed setting whatsoever.
Save game is detected automatically, although I there is
some kind of database in the OS where is has savedata type information.

Castlevania: PoR = animation intro runs perfectly on R4DS with Kingston 1GB MicroSD.
Metroid Prime: Hunters = Runs fine, no slowdown in intro.
Elite Beat Agent = Runs fine.

Can't test the download play as I've only got 1 DS...

So, far I happy that I've made a VERY GOOD choice, cause I was worried that I would have
slowdown problems like Supercard.

Ok, I've tested Tony Hawk's DJ.. Works fine, although I've only played for 15 min... I don't have
other ROMs you've mentioned. I've got only about 25 odd roms... T.T

you only mention PoR's intro, what about its gameplay, does it freeze when you hit pause button or talk to wind?

Hey! Can you use the .SAV files from SC Lite. I dnt want to get a slot1 and then have to restart my games.

if you order a R4 DS from diveno its still on pre order status so you going to have to wait a while ..............

i ordered dec 21 and i got a email saying

Dear Customer,

We are sorry the product is still with the "Pre Order" status.
Your order will be process as soon as we get them back in stock
Because of Customs and Shipping Delay please expect at least 2 weeks
before

R4DS was $ 44.99 shipping was $ 8.49 international air mail

which is weird cuase im in the US and i ordered from Diveno US why internationl mail lol ?

to this day i have no idea when i will recieve my R4 :-(

Ordered my r4 from Divineo China last week. Tracking says it was posted and departed from the country on the 22nd, yet to arrive in the uk though strangely enough. But I'm hopefull it will turn up in a couple of days.

To answer couple of questions, Castlevania PoR it doesn't freeze at all talking to Wind or pressing pause button.

Gui is simple, I use newly updated version 1.04. It just shows all the NDS file in a simple list...
I am at friend's house so, can't take photo... (I also don't know how to put photos on this forum, I am a newbie)

Memory I've got is Kingston 1GB. Apparently, R4DS is not suppose to slowdown at all whatever memory you use.
But I can't promise since I only got Kingston.

I ordered it from Divineo China, they shipped it the very next day... some places are selling it cheaper like
$40 but, I prefered Divineo since it was a big company and had other items that I wanted to order...

I've tried tested following ROMS..
All works fine..

1. Meteos
2. Monster Bomber
3. Trauma Center: Under the Knife
4. Cooking Mama
5. Final Fantasy III (Played only for 5 min only)
6. New Super Mario Bros.
7. Tony Hawk's DJ
8. Brain Training
9. Brain Age
10. Elite Beat Agents
11. True Swing Golf
12. Big Brain Academy
13. Metroid Prime Hunters (Played for 5 minutes)
14. Tetris DS
15. Full Metal Achemist: Dual Sympathy
16. Yoshi's Island DS
17. Castlevania: PoR

Quite surprise to see that I haven't encountered any problems unlike
Supercard users... It's also good to know that R4DS team is constantly
updating their OS, although I don't know how to customise this menu...

Will post more info, if anybody got more questions...

It's Spring-loaded, also R4DS's plastic quality is same quality as
original roms, No protruding plastic pieces or sticking out.

I can easily pop out the just the MicroSD from the R4DS while it's inside the DS
without taking whole cartridge out in order to connect it to PC.
