I'm trying to dump Smash, but it boots before finishing. I get to the following lines and then the game loads. I've tried restarting the dump and the same thing happens.

If I remember correctly, that's one of the last things that downloads. Then the game should boot to the main menu. Check your dump and let me know the sizes of your dt00, dt01, and ls

Gotcha. Yeah, when it asks your for the region and to confirm your patch version, put US and 288.

I tried doing it again and it didn't work. This is going to sound super sad and pathetic but could anyone send me their files for smash bros hacking (Content, meta, etc)? I think i'm doing something wrong and this is so frustrating!

The dump is not where it should be. I actually can't find it on my computer. I set it to dump to a C:/Smash and it's not there.

So I have an...interesting predicament. I'm trying to texture the bandana/scarf from the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games onto Pikachu, kind of like this:
pokemon_mystery_dungeon_red_blue_main_169.jpg
This is the texture:
XDQCt4L.png
(The actual pixels are the smallest size they can be, this is just shown up close to show there's no fuzziness on the texture)
No blurriness, right?...
7yDbVPX.png

What do? :/
I think the part of the texture I'm editing is spread too far and thin across this part of the model which makes it blurry and bad quality...does anybody have any suggestions?
3DS textures were way easier to work with than this...>_>

If modifying UV's is possible, then that would solve your problem.

Alright, so I've extracted Fox's sounds and I cant seem to find the file where all of his sound effects are, Ive got a file which is his rapid jab called snd_vc_fox.nus3bank which Is the only voice file ive been able to find, the rest are the crowd chanting his name and his victory theme, does anyone know where to find them because I wanna edit them for a certain mod

Hello, I need to fix a problem I have with some costumes. When I select a certain character with one costume, and my brother selects the same character and another costume, the match will load and we'll both be using the same costume.

To fix this, I need to use TexIDFixer and edit the texture ID (as said in TS4M's http://pastebin.com/exA11jTM).
However, I'd like to know a little bit more about what number to use. It sounds like I can just use a number that isn't in use, because TS4M says "Nintendo set the texture ID to 4 x (slot - 1) so avoid using any of those numbers". Does that mean when I'm adding costume slots, I need to set the texture ID to a number that isn't divisible by 4 or being used by any of the other costumes I've added?

Thanks.

Edit: Found someone saying:
" Character slots for textures are c00-c07 unless you added more. IDs start at 1. So the texture in slot c00 will be ID 1, c01 will be 2, c02 will be 3, etc.

They're not the same unfortunately. ID numbers are +1 of the slot number without the 0 in front."

If this is true, then I just need to start using IDs from 9 and up. Is this correct? x:

That's just how textures are mapped to models and how Pikachu's textures map is. There's nothing you can really do to fix that right now. My only suggestion would be to try increasing the resolution of the texture in question. It would give you more room to work with and should help reduce how blurry it looks.
It should work fine in theory, but I don't know if the nut inject script will properly support it.

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
  • DinohScene @ DinohScene:
    run h2testw on it

  • DinohScene @ DinohScene:
when SD cards/microSD write speeds drop below a meg a sec, they're usually on the verge of dying

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Samsung SD format can sometimes fix them too
  • Purple_Heart @ Purple_Heart:
yes looks like an faulty sd
  • Purple_Heart @ Purple_Heart:
@Psionic Roshambo i may try that with my dead sd cards
    +1
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    It's always worth a shot
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@The Real Jdbye, I considered that, but i'll have to wait until i can get the eu version in the mail lol
  • I @ I-need-help-with-wup-wiiu:
i need help with nusspli failed downloads, can someone respond to my thread? pretty please:wub:
