I passed one hour in the grass on pokemon UM to get a pichu.
One hour, no joke
After one hour, i finally got one
Since then, im training my pichu, and i keep getting pichu

EXPLAIN WTF IS GOING ON

I got mine with second try, then caught two more to get better nature for my adventure, all in under 5 mins. Blame the RNGesus for your luck, it's like 5% chance

well, it took me an hour to finally catch one, then I trained him, and in less than 10 minutes, i encountered like 5-6 pichu, the only pokemon on the road that my pichu has no good attack against it

Plus, the one I caught was level 2, and all those i encountered after were level 4...

I caught level 2 at first too, but then changed mostly because I found a level 5 AND it had a decent nature! But anyway, it's not really worth it and it sucks, but at least you can evolve it into the Kanto one once you reach Poni Island so it can finally be useful. My advice is to get Zorua, Grimer and Magnemite (Magnezone is a million times better than Raichu) from the trainer school, Abra from Hau'Oli, your starter and a last one of your choice and you won't ever have any trouble in your adventure.

I caught level 2 at first too, but then changed mostly because I found a level 5 AND it had a decent nature! It just needs to level up at Pony Canyon (4th island) similar to Vikavolt and Probopass, but you won't really need it before that, Magneton has pretty good stats already.
