Could anyone explain the installation process to be please? The readme is a little vague.

I’ve created a folder called switch at the base level of my sd card and extracted the contents of this into a new folder called snes but I can’t find anyway to actually launch this from my switch?

Do I need to do some additional hacking? The reading I did made it seem like I did not.

So yeah, you're gonna download it and delete the db.xml file. You'll then put your roms (zipped or unzipped) in the "roms" folder. plug the entire package into the switch folder on your SD card and voila

Hey @cpasjuste wanna make a Nintendo Entertainments System emulator? I've always wanted a functional pNES

So I just want to make sure I understand, I have to exit the emulator through - and + in order to keep saves.

No using home button?

How do I launch the emulator from my switch though? I don’t see a launcher in the albums app or anywhere else on my switch.

Gonna go out on a limb here but have you actually run an exploit and loaded up hbmenu or sxos?
No! Can you point me in the right direction? I’m sure that’s why it isn’t working. I was under the impression I could run this without hacking my device. I’m running the current firmware.

Hi, just released a new version (1.6) with minimal changes for now :

  • try to fix docked mode (untested, thanks m4xw for the tips)
  • update to latest snes9x git (1.56.2)
  • update pSNES version to 1.6

Hi, I love this emulator it has really nice performance and nice features and I really appreciate that you are still putting out updates for it :)
I surely don't wish to bother you, But one thing that maybe could be addressed in a future release would be the saving feature.

As it works right now it seems like after you save the game you have to exit back to the menu and close the game for it to get properly saved.
The retronx team (RetroArch port to the switch) managed to make it so that saves are automatically saved no matter how you exit the games (home-button included)
This feature would really be amazing in you emulator as well :)

It's just a suggestion and not a deal-breaker or anything.

Thank you for your contributions to the scene

Works great! Can you apply the same magic dock fix to pFBA?
Any way to have any of the retroarch shaders implemented as well, or at least some decent scanlines until the proper 3D support magic is being figured out? All the current filters look... Well... Super ugly :)

Anyway, thanks for the hard work, love it!

So I got it all set up, everything looks great but for some reason when I’m in handheld mode the right joycon only works if it’s removed from the switch. If I slide it back on it will stop working again. Only seems to happen in PSNES, any ideas?

Edit: And just like that it’s working again. I’ll chalk that up to weirdness.

It's a great emulator but is there a possility to save within emulated games? I was playing Super Metroid today but it didn't save progress even if I reached different save portals and it sais "game saaved". If I started a new game there was no save game state found. Don't know why. I know Nintendos VC always let you save.
