Added to patch-only releases, although I'm not sure if the patch is near-enough complete?

On the December 2020 release post, Kurito says;
"3) Esta listo completa la traducción?
R. La historia completa fue liberada el día 20-07-2020. Lo que esta liberando ahora lo restante del juego."

Is there enough content still missing to warrant a revival project?

It says that there is still some stuff left like menus and some titles

I've just found this thread. Amazing!
I'll try some of those tools because I need to extract text dump from some games and I'd like to try (or to learn to try) to translate games

Hi there! I know it's been quite a few years, and I'm not sure if AZealousIndividiual is still around, but for Cross Treasures many of the graphics related files such as the .ncg, .ncl, and .ncs files can all be edited/exported/imported with NitroPaint. Hopefully this information can be used by someone to make more progress on a more complete translation of Cross Treasures!

Decided to bundle together a list of orphaned projects that made a release which could be picked up again, if anyone happened to be so inclined! I’m also providing a mirror download link for these on my GDrive, to prevent them from becoming lost in a sea of dead links many have unfortunately ended up. Note that dates are in the European format dd/mm/yyyy

Feel free to let me know if there’s anything you’d like adding to this list! Help wanted ads for active projects that have hit a road block are also welcome, BUT there must be either a tool or text dump freely available. (Not PM for download links!)

Also, please refrain from making translation requests on this thread. There is one already dedicated to that, so your message will be noticed without the need to make multiple posts. Thank you!

Patch only releases
These games have a partial translation patch, with little to no documentation. In other words, attempts to pick them up will have to start from square one again (unless you're able to get a hold of the original authors.) However as well as knowing that hacks are doable, there's the added bonus of being able to pick up from someone else's hard work! In cases where it's dubious whether or not the original authors would be okay with someone picking up where they left off, please proceed with sensitivity! (I.e. where they haven't been heard from in years, and offer no alternative contact method to try.)

Be advised; this is not an exhaustive list.

Chi's Sweet Home: Chi ga Ouchi ni Yatte Kita (チーズスイートホーム チーがおうちにやってきた)

Partial Patch: V1 was released by Suruz in May 2010, originally lost, a backup was provided by jonothan.stevens. GDrive Mirror

The majority of the text has been translated, with some awkward English due to limitations of space. A few images were translated on the thread which have since been lost, nothing in-game.

Additional Info: A text inserter called "ChiTrans" was created by DarthNemesis and given to suruz for use in this project, who was providing it to people on a PM-only basis.

Alt Title: Cid and Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: the Labyrinth of Forgotten Time DS+
AOHn5EP.png

Language: JPN > ENG

Note: This game has received several iterations. The original on the Wii, received an English release. The DS version is an enhanced port of that game, which never received a translation, and was followed by a remaster named 'Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy!' which released in English for the Switch and PS4.

The majority of these links have gone dead, however versions of their work can be found as pre-patched ROMs on sites that will not be linked here.

All the text in the game can be found within the graphics, making it possible to translate using pre-existing tools (T-Tudor used TileMolester). Thanks for checking out this thread! If you are interested in picking up any of these projects, do let me know so I can update it! :D

I feel incredibly interested in the Ketsui patch, I adore shmups a lot, however I also had the plan to translate Kenshuui Tendo Dokuta, the first game of the one called "Lifesigns Surgical Unit". Still can't confirm anything in order to not raise any sort of hope lol.

Sorry I saw this late! I kind of dropped it years ago because I couldn't work out the graphics and felt so incompetent and overwhelmed considering the existing menu translation patch had edited those, but if this works maybe this is a good reason to revisit it~

No worries! If you do choose to continue working on the game I could help with some of the hacking stuff!

That trio file really pain to edit for me, maybe because i lack some knowledge regarding nitropaint.
I usually export the graphic files using Tinke, edit it with photoshop, and import it back using Tinke again but Tinke can’t import anything to ncg, ncl or nsc file.

I plan to finish Cross Treasure graphic translation but kinda slow on progress because I can’t import whole edited png to nsc file correctly in nitropaint.
Now i’m manually importing 8px chunk to ncg file
