Did you try reformatting?
I actually did, like 2 days ago. A day before installing GBARunner. It's 4gb Transcend MicroSDHC class 6. I've formated it with SD software (not sure how it's called, grabbed it via link on the Nintendo site), full overwrite, FAT32 with 32k clusters. Should be fine i guess?

You should be using a GBA bios with GBARunner2.

Edit: (1000th comment on thread!)
I do I believe. Got several different bios'es: one from the recent video on how to install GBARunner, 1 from *snip* (damn, their site designs are pretty similar) and 1 more from somewhere else.

Gz on the 1k ^_^

Oh, my bad. Tried not to link, didn't know site names are restricted as well.

Still no resolution on my issue?
I'm not completely sure what your issue could come from. My advice would be to try different versions of gbarunner2, starting from the most recent to older releases. You can find them on the gbatemp wiki. Also, I thought the gba bios had to be in the GBA folder? Maybe I remember wrong. What system menu (ysmenu, "some generic menu"), does your flash card use? It seems like it is an issue with your flash card. From my own experience this has a lot to say, having tested it on 4 different setups.

In the case that it is your flash card giving you problems, the quickest solution might be to setup SRloader and boot it through that (I've explained earlier in the thread how to do it). You could also try YSmenu if that's an option. If all else fails, moonshell might work but I've not had any luck with that myself. YSmenu is my prefered way of booting gbarunner2 ('cept my dslite is currently broken and I'm waiting for replacement parts to fix it and there is no way of downgrading european dsi's for that to be an option...)

Well, I tried 3 ways here: like said on Wiki, placed it into GBA folder; like people above suggested - in the root; and, just in case, tried both - 1 in root and 1 in GBA folder.

It's generic R4i clone which uses sort of its own TTmenu mod with working touch buttons on the lower screen. For me it also seems the flashcart is the main issue. I'll look into getting SLoader, different shells and write some results. Thanks for the help ^_^

Even if the flashcard would be the issue, the question remains why showing the directories and files works fine, but appearently not loading the actual rom. That seems weird right. Maybe there is a difference somewhere, some mistake I made somewhere. Idk. Maybe the environment is subtly different, but enough to make the dldi act differently?

But for the rest the app works just fine. This is weird indeed. Still haven't tried launching it via SLoader / another shell, but yesterday older versions gave em another error (can't recall which one).

I was having a very similar problem; all the files would appear properly, but for some reason the roms wouldn't load, it got stuck in load or copy. I ended up using ysmenu and the first big difference i noticed was that a different message appeared on top of the bottom screen when i started the app. You should probably give it a try.

a) regular boot

Oh, yeah, that text is the name of the dldi driver. So that means a different way of accessing the sd was used. Did that one work? If so might be interesting to compare.

Well, for some reason the japanese site to get YSMenu is down for me, got it from R4 Wood site (DSTTi DSTT YSMenu V7.05. Hope it's not restricted to link those). The message on the top is also changed and game loaded with no problems. However, the screen flickers like crazy and I can't get past menu on Zelda LttP. It might be wramicache version, so gonna check out common ARM7 now. At least it works! Thanks everyone who tried / helped!

As far as I understand, there's no way to save any progress in any game, right?

EDIT. Couldn't manage to get Zelda to work. Bios loads fine then screen goes flickering party.
EDIT2. The solution @Disturbp suggested is worked. I might not be clear in text above, but had all the same situation as in #1011.

The one that works is the one used YSMenu (the one that shows DLDI), the other one at first stopped when loading, and after a couple attemps it got to copying, later today I will let it run and see if it is just a matter of time.

Thanks so much @Gericom for this emulator, it's great and working fantastic on my n3ds, (very easy to set up)! I downloaded using the links from @Disturbp tutorial video.

I did have two questions.

1) Does this current state of the emulator allow for making save points when you are given the option to in the gba roms? or is it a setting you have to do yourself outside the games to make a save state? I haven't seen any .sav files appear in the gba folders on my sd card.

2) Are you planning on improving this emulator to work with games it currently isn't compatible with? For example, I've been really trying to get Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup gba rom to load but once I select to load the game I'm only getting a white screen (iv'e tried to trim the rom to not have the title sequence, but still no luck).

Again thanks so much for working on this!

We have a compatibility wiki for the gba games: https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/GBARunner2

1. Currently there is no way to save in any release of gbarunner2. It´s in the making but got no ETA for now.

2. Gericom plans to improve gbarunner2, he´s currently unable to because of health reasons.

To me that seems like the ysmenu does auto-dldi patching (so you can see the dldi string properly) by standard DLDI interface, where the other does not? Is any other NDS homebrew (like SnemulDS and NesDS for instance) running fine in regular boot?

NesDS uses libfat, but SnemulDS uses https://bitbucket.org/Coto88/gccnewlibnano_to_fsfat (gccnewlibnano_to_fsfat driver), to use SD access.

Make sure to use to use latest homebrew from: https://bitbucket.org/Coto88/ (master branch, in /release folder)

That way, if both homebrews work fine, then that's up to GBARunner2 itself. On the other hand, if at least one of these two homebrews fail, then the kernel does not use auto-dldi patching, or the DLDI patching is non standard. That said, I think YSMenu should work for both cases.

Hey! Both NesDS and SnemulDS work with regular boot (I've been using them regularly both through the flashcart menu and YSMenu) which surprised me even more. I don't exactly know the build of GBARunner2 I'm using right now, although I believe it is the last one in the wiki (don't really have any way of compiling one myself right now), but it is strange as I've tried every single build and found an old one that for some reason worked, but it seems like my R4 is blocking the dldi or something like that? I'm quite a newbie in this, but that's as far as I can tell. I'm fine with running it from YSMenu, I just wanted to check it out and I was satisfied that I actually got it to work.
