anybody have an idea on this?

back story of my issue

See if your games work with Nintendont. DIOS MIOS doesn't support exFAT or NTFS. DM hasn't been updated in years and probably it's unlikely it ever will be

I appreciate your help. Does sneek+di even work anymore? I created a nand with modmii, but I can't boot, I always get 1 repeating disc light flash. A tutorial here says in folder structure kernel. Bin is renamed? Am I supposed to do that? When I take my card out, nand is showing up in the root. Also do I need sneek files in the USB? I have a confirmed working usb from a long time ago. Sneek will work, but not sneek di. Also I tries using crediars sneek installer 0.7 and when getting isos it crashes. I tried launching it in compatibility mode and with administrator privileges. It crashes on decrypting some file. I never got sneekdi to work in the past. What can I do? I appreciate everything Grey . My stuff is 32 kb cluster size drives and SD card.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

When I did rename kernel.Bin, I got four flashes on the disc light.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also I have games on the drive extracted with wbfs manager. It's fat32.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also pimp my wii says I have trucha bug and es downgrade bug.

I got it. I updated some isos with pimp my wii 3.03, was on d2x v8. I left everything alone after modmii was done just changed bootmiineek to bootmii and did what you said and loaded bootmii from homebrew channel. My confirmed working usb stick had to be in, in order to boot. Post loader doesn't detect the USB, and wiiflow channel will crash. Glad I know I can't use my hard drive enclosure or my 1tb usb 3 drive. The working stick is an 8 gb verbatim store n go. If that helps anyone. I wonder what types of usb work with neek.

One more question. How can I tell if everything is up to date. I only have homebrew channel 1.7. Not sure where to look for that. Also where do the devs and current progress people hang out? I'm not sure where to go on this forum.

Having trouble with Crystal Chronicles for gamecube using Nintendont, I recently switched from dios mios for the added compatibility and the ability to use my disk drive and the game was fine prior to this. When the backup is launched the first credit shows but then the wii console itself powers off. Tested on USBloaderGX ver1260 and wiiflow, haven't tried on CFGloader. Any settings I could change to fix this problem?

Check the disc's MD5 hash and make sure it's a good dump. (The tool in my sig can do it automatically.)

Cool I wasn't aware such a tool existed, I redumped the game and its working. I feel so silly since this is like the third time this has happened. Anyway thanks for your help!

I got a question for about Nintendont, is there any way to use two usb controllers on the Wii? There are 2 usb ports as you know and I'm already using one for isos and stuff,so is there a way to use some kind of usb hub for multiplayer?

My Wii was modded a few years ago and I want to completely clear it and do it again . It never worked the way it was meant to
Thanks if anyone can help xx

Get ModMii and use the wizard to softmod your Wii as if it was new. There's no need to remove anything old if you're not going to use it again (and it could cause problems if you don't remove things properly.)

Hello,
I have installed Letterbomb for my Wii and have installed CFW as per the instructions of () this video however due to the fact that I am using a Wii Motionplus controller I am unable to use WAD manager. Prior to this application I used my old GC controller to install the software. I am aware there is a mod http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=170430 to allow for the gamecube contoller. Can someone help me with a step by step guide to installing this or at least link me to a thread that does this?
Cheers.

That video is from 4 years ago so some of the information in the description is old.

I would suggest WiiModLite (or YAWMM) instead of the one you linked. They support WiiMotion+.

All homebrew apps are installed by putting them in a folder called "/apps" on your SD card. So YAWMM's files would be:
/apps/YAWMM/boot.dol
/apps/YAWMM/icon.png
/apps/YAWMM/meta.xml
/apps/YAWMM/* (any other files and folders that go with it)

Using WBFS partitions and WBFS Manager is not a good idea. It can corrupt the drive partition and games. It's better to use Wii Backup Manager and FAT32.

Noob here.

I intend to buy a Wii to play backup Wii, GCN, N64, PS1, plus 8- and 16-bit era games, especially multiplayer like Mario Party.

I want to use the controllers I already have: 2 Dualshocks 3, 2 generic PS3 controllers (Afterglow PDP PS3/PC), plus possible 1 wiimote/nunchunk. [As a side note, my PS3 is an up-to-date Super Slim.]

I intend to follow mainly the tutorial:
http://gbatemp.net/threads/beginner...g-wiiware-vc-vackups-gamecube-backups.400975/

If I understand correctly, one uses Letterbomb to allow the Homebrew Channel, and from it it's possible to get emulators (plus Nintendont for GCN) and one app which I don't know yet to read backup Wii games from SD card.

Is my plan sound and doable?

While I'll admit that I have not read the entire tutorial your considering, I've set up almost a dozen Wiis using ModMii: http://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/

It's IMO the best way to get the Wii setup initially. Then you can go to other tutorials to setup the other stuff as needed. My recommendations would be:

-ModMii (to softmod your Wii, setup emuNand & lots of other stuff): http://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/

-Nintendont (for GameCube - I use it through USB Loader GX): http://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendont.349258/

-USB Loader GX (as a loader and to dump your NAND and set up emuNand for WW/VC): http://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx.149922/

-ShowMiiWads (used with emuNAND for WW/VC): http://gbatemp.net/threads/showmiiwads.426917/

-How to SoftMod a Wii to Play Backup Wii, Gamecube and Wiiware Games (handy for answering questions on anything still needed): http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-s...backup-wii-gamecube-and-wiiware-games.360687/

Thanks for the info.

I know Nintendont and Snes9x supports the controllers I mentioned. Do the emulators, plus the "Wii backup games player" (I still don't understand how it works) have support for them? Especially for N64/PS1. I'm also considering getting a Raspberry Pi for those if the Wii doesn't allow it.

The Wii actually does a pretty good job with emulators. I've used a few of them, but got hooked on getting my GameCubes working & emuNand through my WD 8TB My Book. I haven't gotten back around to the emulators yet. Not sure how USB Loader GX vs WiiFlow handles the emulators, but I think I heard USB Loader GX does a pretty good job once set up correctly. When you get to that point and you need help I'd just head over to that thread and ask about getting it set up correctly.

Wii Emulators - To start you'll want to check this out for what's available: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/List_of_homebrew_emulators

I followed this tutorial https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...backup-wii-gamecube-and-wiiware-games.360687/ and managed to put the custom firmware on the wii the only thing I haven't done is the last part because I don't have USB HD :( so I cant load usb loader etc.

I did Install Homebrew Channel, Backup Wii NAND (to restore your Wii if anything goes wrong), the next part took me a while to figure out >>>> Install Priiloader (regionfree games and stop updates) got it in the end though.

I could help until this part but the next bit I need help.

(Install USB Loader and Custom ISO) I couldn't really test as I'm lacking a HD I did install USB loader but it crashes I think that's because I need a HD plugged in right ?

I also really only want emulation of 8-16 bit emulation but I wanted to at least make it to the end of the tutorial, My Wii actually plays GC games but would rather play form a back up. So can I run 8-16 bit emulation (Sega MS Megadrive (genesis) NES SNES and arcade Emulation like the CPS 1 and 2 and NEOGEO on my wii without having to do all of this and without a HD ? only on my SD ?

also I understand PSone N64 emualtion is not great on the wii and suffers low framerates is this true ?

You can run a syscheck on your Wii and post the results here using this guide (https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/). This will let me see if you installed everything.

USB Loader GX needs a USB Drive in order to play backups. Loading from the SD card does not work. There is another loader called WiiFlow and it does support loading games from an SD card. How big is your SD card by the way?

You say you only want to play older systems. Do you already have the roms of the game you want to play? I just recently started using WiiFlow to play all my old system roms through emulators on the Wii. Check out this video to see what it can do (). Set up is actually pretty easy now if you use this pack here (https://gbatemp.net/threads/wiiflow-4-the-masterpiece-pack-by-abz.336543/) which already has everything set up for you. All you have to do is extract it to your SD card and put your roms and covers in the correct spots and have them properly named.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

thank you for your in-depth reply, I'm sure I installed everything correctly but I will check and post, 2nd opinions are alwasy useful. Eventually I would like to get a USB drive but for now if I can emulate from the SD card that would be great.
I actually have a collection of Sega MS and MD/GEN and Nintendo Nes and Snes and also NeoGeo, I dont have any CPS roms and I really would like to emulate the old arcade classics.

My SD card is 8GB I do have a 32GB but thats being used on a Goldpro 2016 for my DS lite.

After watching the video you posted It might be worth just waiting till I get a USB drive. I didn't realise all those emulators are available on the WII WOW!!
have you tried them all ? whats compatibility like? is there any not worth having?

I shall post a system check when i have the time over the next week or so

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.
