The above image was taken from: http://www.residentevil.com/veronica/ and is supposedly an upcoming title for the 3DS. The url is no longer active.
There is talk of the REmake being a full HD release so whether the game will be put out on the 3DS first and then followed by home consoles, similar to 2012's RE Revelations, is yet to be seen.

As I said in the shoutbox, it seems very unlikely that they would take the resources to update an older RE title to modern standards, and then release it on the one of two systems, handheld and console alike, that does not cater to a mature game rating in the slightest. Of course, maybe they're using the 3DS as their testing ground. They release one version on the 3DS as a kind of beta, then release the definitive version again down the line on systems where the game will sell enough units to not be a financial burden. We've already seen them do it once, so I wouldn't be particularly surprised to see them do it again.

Holy shit. I can't believe this. I thought no one would risk releasing classic-style RE game these days. If this is true , it's day-one purchase for me. Code veronica is one of the best classic RE games , it's long and it's in full 3d. I wonder how they are planning to 'enhance' it , but I believe that this might be revealed at e3.

Enhaced can means destructed. Maybe they want to remake the game at fps shooter style. Like 4, 5, racoon, etc.

well they did that with revelations so... you never know.

personally, i wouldn't mind if they rereleased all the old games with revelations gameplay.

it should be obvious that, if there was any truth to this, it would NOT be classic style. The classic style was never that well received, even though these games sold well, survival horror in general was always a niche genre that generated low profits.
which is exactly why there hasn't been a classic style resident evil that wasnt a port in a long time.

i never played veronica and i think this is good.

I know but they are releasing too much of the remakes, iirc the game had like 2 versions on PS2 and was released on PS3 and then on 360.
I bet there's a PC version too somewhere -_-
And now this.... its just too much

EDIT: No PC version but there's a Dreamcast version, still too much.
Ohh and GC too.

Wow man calm down, first of all this game was originally Dreamcast exclusive , and it was later released for PS2 and GC. And guess what, those consoles are from the same generation , so it's pretty much like the game was released on those consoles at one time. Then they made an HD port for PS3 and X360, with no changes except from higher resolution. So basically the game had only ONE re-release. Moreover , this game is an enhanced edition, so we might expect it to contain extra content, and maybe it's even a remake, kinda like Resident Evil for GC. There's no PC port and, more importantly, no portable version of the game. I agree that they should make new games for the series, but with the shit that 6 , ORC and arguably 4 and 5 were for the series , I'd rather stick to the classics.

//EDIT
I don't want to make another useless post, so I'm just going to answer there. I heard that Revelations is good, haven't played it myself yet though. That's why I didn't mention it in my earlier post. But it's one good game out of those five, that's not a good thing.

I think I might be in wrong forum to get hyped for classic RE game.

No credible sources for this, so reserving the right to call BS, but can't be a bad thing if true.

Hopefully it'll actually be a remake and not just upgraded graphics, I enjoyed the game but I'm not that into re-playing games unless it brings something else to the table.

Still have RE1 Remake on my GC......those Crimson Zombies would make a good match for Wolverine i think

But seriously enough with the damn remakes/reports/enhanced/dehanced nonsense and gimme RE7 starring everyone that has been in the series so far then i might be happy

One of my favorites, so much so that I bought the PS2 version 6 months before I bought a PS2. Right up there with RE2 and REmake.
