I keep trying to patch the cia and I always get "checksum mismatch" I'm using all the files from the given folder so there can't be anything wrong also ignoring the error gives the message "source file too short". Any ideas?
okay so I had forgotten that and now it did get patched but I ran the cia and the mod hasn't been activated. I had the dlc and update before I looked into this mod, does that interfere in any way?

So, I did that and still nothing. It leads me to believe that maybe the cia was patched wrongly.
I'm still a bit confused about that because when I patched the cia with the Hamtaro patch, the cia didn't appear as "PATCHED" but I assumed it was and patched the optional patch over it. Is that how it works? If so, then I have no idea what's wrong here.
Hello, how are you? I'm having a mistake with the game I applied the hantaro patch but every time I get the hantaro on my lap and put it on the floor of this image error I applied the patch above what is available on the site 3dsiso and tbm already tried to compile my own cia but the error persists.

Just to be clear, you were using the Hamtaro Patch with LayeredFS before and only now you're getting the error? Ok, so then I must've done something wrong with the xDelta patch, I'll give it a look soon. I'm sorry you'll have to try and avoid the error until I figure out the problem, just backup your save and save frequently to avoid any data loss. You could also go back to the LayeredFS version if you have it.
Edit: Do you remember what version of the patch you were using with LayeredFS?
Okay I've taken some photos to show you the process of patching the file:
First drag the "TLE v5.0 1.1 update.cia" to the original file box, then drag the "Hamtaro Base Patch.xDelta" to the xDelta patch box. It'll look like this:
Then hit apply patch, if everything goes okay you'll get a message saying "patch successfully applied.
Then go to the Optional Patches folder IN the Hamtaro Patch folder. Drag the "Inari Gender Switch Patch.xDelta" file to the xDelta patch box.
Hit apply patch and you should get the same message saying your patch has been successfully applied.
Let me know if that works for you! But, since there are apparently some problems with the Hamtaro xDelta patch I'd recommend just avoiding it for now. You can use the base TLE patch without Hamtaro instead or use UberGeek77's Restoration patch on its own with LayeredFS.

Let me be clearer. I used before the hamtaro LayeredFS without your patch and the first time I'm using True Love. I deleted the LayeredFS hantaro from the luma folder and applied the xDelta compatibility patch in the cia that you made available on the site 3dsiso I got the error, so I tried to build my own cia with the tutorial found on the first page also without success presents the same error.

Sadly it didn't work. But I found an old file of the game while searching my archives (I knew I had done this before, I wasn't imagining things...), it's on the 4.2 version of the TLE patch and seems to have Hamtaro compatibility (he appears on the titel screen). So I manually updated the game by overwriting the base game's files (with Hamtaro already patched) with the files from the folder "Patch Files" and it worked! The version of the TLE doesn't appear on the title screen any longer but it should be the 5.0.1 update (I got it from that folder). Thank you for everything!

Well, there are some missing lines of dialogue concerning the Hamtaro patch but I'm not sure if that belogns on this thread as I am using the correct files. I already posted the problem on the Hamtaro thread.
Also just to be clear about the xdelta problem, the cia did seem to get patched but as I was going to install it using FBI it always gave me an error.

If you're getting missing dialogue in any hamtaro/cheburashka events then that should be a problem with the restoration patch. If it's not then I might've gotten something mixed up.
I'll look into the xdelta patches and the missing dialogue just in case.
Alright, I think I've figured out the problem. Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to fix it in a simple way.
The crash is happening because the update cia is ignoring hamtaro's sound files. I don't know exactly why it's doing that, but my current theory is that because the update never included new sound data to begin with, it just isn't registering the added files. So, as of right now there's no way to have the hamtaro patch in the 1.1 update cia.
However, the hamtaro patch does work completely fine if it's already inside the base game. If you dump your Trio of Towns base cia, extract the romfs, apply Ubergeek77's full restoration patch (not mine), rebuild your cia, and install it again then everything will work perfectly with the TLE cia. You could also use LayeredFS like you were before, but you'll most likely start getting the mushroom log crash.

I rebuilt the cia with the full restoration patch but when the TLE cia is installed without the Hamtaro compatibility patch, the Hamtaro event does not occur, but when the Hamtaro compatibility patched TLE cia is installed on top of the restoration patched cia, I get the "...." and crashing during the Hamtaro event.

@SylverReZ, and ik that this is unrelated to what I did just say but the only Commodore game I recall ever playing was impossible Mission and I didnt like it that much
@SylverReZ, I played the ds version which had 3 game modes, one where everything sounds and looks like the original, one where the assets were remade, and one which is a mixture of the other 2
