A brand new series based on the Devil May Cry franchise by Capcom will make its debut on Netflix next year.

While not much information was shared about the story or plot outside of the trailer itself, the trailer's description mentions Adi Shankar as the one leading the project, with Studio Mir being in charge of the animation for the series.

The trailer showcases several action pieces from the show, with Dante riding his motorcycle, taking down a room full of guys, and another action set showcasing Dante moving through airplane debris on the skies. It then shifts to Dante opening a pizza box, and flashing several scenes of him shooting and fighting demons.

The "Devil May Cry" series is set to premier on April 2025 exclusively on Netflix.

I'm a bit excited. Been wanting to get into DMC again recently, but why does he have Nero's VA? What was the point in switching it up besides sounding "younger"? Seems pretty lazy.

Even though I am not even remotely invested in DMC myself, have never played a full game from start to finish, I noticed this right away, and it really threw me off.
Makes Dante sound kinda childish to an extend, I wasn't fully aware Nero's VA for DMC4 and DMC5 was the one behind the Netflix series voice for Dante.
Anyway, I doubt I'll see this, but if I'm bored one day I might

I never finished 2, 4, or 5, but I don't recall the tea-sipping Mr. Rabbit enemy. Respectfully, the voice actor for Dante doesn't sound deep enough. Those are the two things that stood out to me.

I know there was a DMC anime back in the 2000's/2010's, but I didn't pay it any mind. I feel like DMC works best as a game, similar to Bayonetta.

He's supposed to be much younger, akin to how he was in DMC 3 but maybe even a bit younger. His voice wasn't really deep in DMC 3 but it does sound very different to even that
Idk if Reuben can pull the teenage Dante voice anymore but aside from that there could have been a couple reasons why they didn't use him again (with one of them being pretty dumb). I think they're accumulative

Ah, I didn't realize he was supposed to be younger for the new show. (I looked up the original anime. It came out in 2007 and took place between DMC1 and 2.)

This reminds me of when DMC3 first came out. I wasn't thrilled by a prequel with young Dante, but the reviews were glowing and the game was fun. In fact, it still fascinates me that Capcom Production Studio 1 went from "the DMC2 devs" to a hit with DMC3.

You could at LEAST get some fresh blood in the industry like. Come on.

Guy has over 400 roles. At this point, I think the real Johnny Yong Bosch was the friends we made along the way.

That said, this looks interesting enough for me to pirate when it comes out.

Have no idea who can watch these trashy, cheap, cliche after cliche cartoons, they're so, so bad and mediocre it's not even funny any more. But people binge watch all possible SH that's new so it will find its audience. Everyone watches, plays everything these days, identityless blob society.
