The update tik on the titlekeys site isn't the same as what's in the downloads floating around. Has anyone tried installing the update pack that tik?

Any specific sigpatcher I can use? I'm not running custom firmware, just homebrew
me too i never use CFW or sigpatcher too till now, so download mocha here https://github.com/dimok789/mocha/releases/tag/v0.2 it's from Dimok.
or download sig patcher here https://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-signature-check-patcher.451138/ also from Dimok

install and launch one of them on your sd card like you did for wup installer (wiiu/apps/"here")
then install the game update you have.

But that update tik on the titlekeys site isn't fakesigned, is it?
The update ticket on said site also has a different title key. I am suspicious of the origin of the fakesigned update ticket.
In fact, I just verified the signature of the one listed on the title key site using openssl. It is valid, meaning that the update files floating around have been tampered with. At the very least, they were re-encrypted for this new fake title key.

So, following the same procedure, can we decrypt the update using the fakesigned tik, then re-encrypt using the valid one, creating a pack that can be installed without sigpatches?

I would say yes, except whoever tampered with the original update files also removed the signature from the TMD. Without a valid TMD, we cannot simply re-encrypt the files. :(

I have no idea why the files are like this. They were not simply grabbed from the CDN, as the original poster on 4chan indicated...

Yes.
I made a lot of decryptions using fake tickets by just having the correct title key inside the title.tik.
That's all that's required.

I remember I grabbed the title.tik from some game like Just Dance 2016, edited the title key through HEX inside the title.tik file so I could decrypt Super Mario 64 VC

I think we would need the Nintendo keys corresponding to the new update til to re encrypt

I'm getting more and more confused. Getting different replies, don't know who to believe.
On a different note, I highly doubt the actual content of the files were changed, since it would almost certainly break the game. Still, why they were re-encypted is beyond me.

Does anyone know where do you find that blue upper clothing on the Great Plateau? The one that we seen on the E3 footage.

EDIT: nvm, I just found an IGN interview with Aonuma saying:
"We thought that having him wear this tunic for this demo would make it a little more familiar to people watching the game demo and trailer this time around. Link gets that blue suit at a very important juncture in the storyline"

You obtain it in Kakuriko village from an old granny after you return to her after witnessing one of Links memories. Try and head to Kakuriko then the village next door so you can get the Sheika slate checked out.
Once you've recalled one past memory for Link the whizzened old bint will bestow you with the blue hero's tunic :D

You can decrypt/reencrypt by using a fake signed key.
Decryption is no problem. However, when you reencrypt you will have problems.
Since it's not a legit ticket you will not be able to run it without a modification to the signature code. Hence, sigpatch required.

You could decrypt the content of the update with no problems, and once the official tik is leaked/dumped, you can reencrypt the content with it without issues and you will be able to install it without relying on sigpatches to run it.

Although, I bet that by the time we get the official tik, the game/update will already be made officially available on the eShop, so why even bother reencrypting the content when you can simply get it directly from Nintendo's servers at that point?

Well, considering I've helped Cearp with the creation of several of his tools provided on this website, I'd say me, but...

Anyways, it's a fact that the game update ticket provided on the title key site has a valid signature. It is also a fact that both the TMD and ticket provided with the update files floating around have invalid signatures. The TMD is like a manifest, itself holding a checksum of each and every content file in the title. Since the TMD is invalid, it is hard to say whether or not the files have or have not been tampered with. They could have been repacked, for example.

Regardless, even if you reencrypt the update with the valid key, the TMD still has an invalid signature. Without a valid TMD, it is impossible to install the patch without signature checks being patched out.

So when the official update comes out, all we will have to do is uninstall this update from Wii U system settings (not the game just the update) and then install the official one. Until then I'm happy to have this one, which is hard to believe will be any diff than the official one or the game prob wouldn't even work. Unless there are some last minute changes they add in.

You know, you actually raised a good question. Say you are running the EUR BoTW on a US Wii U, would the official update for the game recognise that you have EUR copy and give you the EUR update, or would it give you the US update because it looks at the region of your Wii U?

I believe it looks at the region of your console. I don't think they'll have the EUR update on the us eShop.
