What was this site like when Xuphor was in the spotlight?

I've heard about him and seen some old threads about him. I wasn't there when it happened. I didn't see the saga play out in real time and there's probably a lot of threads and IRC conversations I missed.

Xuphor pretended to be a girl with lung cancer in an attempt to get attention and sympathy. Members pointed out holes in his story and he eventually confessed it wasn't true. He was banned a day or two later and has been infamous since then.
