For some reason, I had it stuck in my head this was a remake of Bahamut Lagoon on the SNES. Now that I've seen the game for myself, I can't wait for this project to be finished.

You're actually not too far off, because according to wikipedia:
QUOTEBlood of Bahamut was directed by Motomu Toriyama, who previously worked on numerous other Square Enix titles including Bahamut Lagoon, a tactical role-playing game for the Super Famicom.

Thanks for all the support! At the time of this writing I have 10 more days until the end of the school year, so I'll be able to return to this project really soon. PG and Inori are finally done with their other major project so I foresee that this project will pick back up with a vengeance before the end of the month.

Very nice! I wouldn't mind playing this game again in english for sure.

Basically this is another one of those worthless "just dropping in to show my support" posts.

Oh how I would kill for a Bahamut Lagoon remake, that was the first RPG I ever played in Japanese.

I'm so glad this project isn't dead as I had feared.
There were a lot of ppl wanting a translation of this a long time ago, and there still is.
Just wanted to drop in and say thank you very much for keeping the project alive. I can't wait to play this in English!!

A7thSteve has a lot of the story translated already, but there's a lot of work to be done in formatting the text so that it doesn't run off the text windows in-game. The percentage complete that you see at the very top of the post reflects how much has been formatted. In terms of what's translated, the number is actually higher. I just want to go with the lower percentage because it's more realistic. I just spent about 3 hours formatting some text, but I'll work on it some more tomorrow.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
