Gaming PSN Store question

A friend of mine keeps telling me she saw the PSN Store update an hour or two ago (she said she only noticed because the appearance of the store was different) and the game she's been waiting for did not come with the update.

Do they make multiple updates a day?

Also, when does the PSN Store do their updates that add new games to buy?

Updates seem to be more random lately but it does not update multiple times a day. Also a good tip is you can sometimes try searching for whatever game you want before the update hits and if it is their you are able to buy and download it before the official store update.
