Just relooked at your syscheck, you should reinstall your hbc so that it is using IOS58. Did u run the modmii wizard? It would have instructed you to do so

I'm busy at the moment, ModMii is downloading stuff. But i plan on following the guide

I just have a problem, the first step is kinda confusing for me, English isn't my native language, but I don't really understand what I'm supposed to do for bootmii if I already have Homebrew Channel, the rest of the guide I understand, it's just that the guide focus on exploits, and I got confused about what to do since I don't need an exploit

So, let me get this clear:

The first step is to reinstall BootMii and HomebrewChannel(and if HomebrewChannel isn't on IOS58 or is upside down, then install it another time after installing IOS)

OR

if already installed, just make a Nand Backup?

Do all of the above, also I'm not sure based on eyeballing your syscheck if you have bootmii installed as boot2, but I know the latest version of boot2 is v4 and your wii is on v2, so it's possible your wii might be fortunate enough to still have a vulnerable boot1 allowing you to install bootmii as boot2, which basically makes u brick proof (especially if combined with a nand backup). Newer wii's can't install bootmii as boot2 but only as IOS. If you can, install it as both boot2 an IOS

Edit: also when u manually install bootmii it first "prepares an SD card". Modmii will prepare the card with an older version of bootmii that's the only version available online. The newer version has minor improvements (I. E. Nothing new impacting nand backup and restoration, but it has built in the title ID of the latest HBC so it won't blackscreen... Assuming you don't have an older hbc or forwarder and priiloader hacks to prevent their deletion)... Anyway, all moot because if u install bootmii it will automatically update the version of bootmii on SD

The final screen when modmii is done should tell u how to boot it. In this case it will either be using nswitch or to launch "bootmii" from the homebrew channel (or priiloader, etc.)

im pretty sure in the "success" screen, there's no instruction to tell me where should I put this created folder of APPS, BOOTMIINEEK, NANDS, SNEEK and WAD. Should I put these in the root of the SD/usb?
I load HBC and I dont see anything new.
Launch bootmii and then what? load which file?
and what is nswitch? I downloaded it using modmii but it said I already have them (in the folder where I download sneek) but I dont see any nswitch.

Modmii by default creates a copy to sd folder and a copy to USB folder. You want to copy the contents of those folders to the root of those devices. Or you can tell ModMii where your SD card is and where your hard drive is and it will put the files directly on the drives without you having to do anything extra. You would have seen screens prompting you to browse for your sd card, or continue using copy to sd and doing the transfer later.

I will have to run it to be sure, but as I said I think there are instructions or tips displayed on screen at the end of a neek installation. In any case, if you run nswitch, it will rename bootmiineek to bootmii, then it will launch "bootmii" which is really launching neek.

Alternatively you could manually rename bootmiineek to bootmii (on the SD card) and then launch "bootmii" (really neek) from the HBC or boot2.

Ok i figured this out myself. There's a neek2o.wad in the WAD folder that I have to install.
It appears in system menu, I run it and then it just stuck on "reloading bootmii IOS"

if I rename bootmiineek to bootmii, now I have 2 bootmii folder, with one from the old original bootmii install. Can I replace that?

Hi. I wonder if anyone can have a look at my Syscheck just to see if I'm missing something.

Hi guys, I really need your help on this. I have my Wii hacked for several years, working fine and now my kids asked me to install some new games.
I had the games on a WD 250GB HDD with one wbfs partition and one fat32 partition. Now with the new games I had to put all the hard drive with one full wbfs partition and than is when the problems started. I used witgui (mac) and and placed all the games but the USBLoaders gx didn't recognised the disk.

After doing a lot of mess, right now this is the status:
1. I have tried the "The Ultimate Nintendo Wii hacking guide for seniors" but on the step of creating a proper brick protection, it went immediately to boot up the Priiloader that I had installed in the past, but it didn't allowed me to do anything as it didn't recognised the wiiremote.

I have the SD card with several applications on the folder "apps" but it only shows 3, one of the apps that doesn't appear is the one for doing the diagnostic-
The USBloader GX does not recognise the HDD.

Any ideia on how to do a full reset and restart all over, I'm completely clueless.

I have used ModMii wizard to mod the wii and followed instructions. Having a few issues with black screens when trying to launch games.
Would someone mind looking over the syscheck for me and making sure it looks savy?

Hello.:)

If you have used ModMii right away, then all should be ok.
You maybe can post here your sysCheck.csv (to check it) or you can drag and drop it on your installed ModMii.exe for check it by yourself.

Thank you.:)

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:

still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
