I don't know if you guys here have followed BBLoader it was a Wii Loader for Portable Wii's that supported playing wii games without a wiimote using a gamecube controller.
https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/bbloader-v1-3-beta.3564/

It is now open source and called RVLoader

Latest Download here https://github.com/Aurelio92/RVLoader/releases

Hopefully people can find this useful and the code can allow porting the wiimote emulation to other loaders.

Any improvement on gc2wiimote? Last time I checked it did not include gestures, which would come very handy for those absolutely unplayable racing motion only games.

Interesting.... this part implies that vc and wiiware wads can be played directly from the wad itself, without installing it to real or emulated nands... still experimental, and I haven't personally tried it, but I've never heard of anyone attempting something like this before

Yup, in BBloader it was nice as you just drag and drop without installing. Problem was not all games were supported, I think he improved it now.

Is it possible to enable cheats on this loader? (I have yet to see a successful tutorial for cheat support).

There's a compiled version that you can download in the Releases section

I also compiled one, but didnt test

edit:
you also need assets and other dols, so I removed the zip file, just use the one provided via the github link as the zip contains all you need (it also shows the file structure on the sd card)

Oh, I see it now, duh!

Thank you!

do you mean game covers?

Installing Covers

Game covers can be downloaded from GameTDB. Use the search feature to find your game and select the correct link (Eg. GMSE01 - Super Mario Sunshine).

Save a cover shown on the right and place in USB:/rvloader/covers/.

Covers are 160px × 224px PNG files and need to be named the same as the game ID (Eg. GMSE01.png)

I figured it out. Apparently the cover names correspond with the games TITLE ID or what ever it's called. The ones from the data base just work when put in the covers folder.

So far this is great, except Phantasy Star On-line crashes.

I know it is specifically designed for portable wiis, but can i use that normally when my wii isn't trimmed? Just as a regular custom interface? Or does it make no sense to use that on a non portable wii?

It doesn't brick your Wii. Otherwise the dev wouldn't have released it.
The dev designed it for trimmed wiis not regular ones. Besides, if it could be installed in a retail wii, why is the point of fakemote by Sherpii? I think many people woule be interested just for the sake of playing some wii games with a regular controller.
