That's awesome! I can't wait for this game to come out! Though I'm almost positive a high school understanding of Spanish wont exactly cut it...

Thanks for all your work to you and all your team.

I'll try it, even if my Spanish lessons are far behind me.
It could be a way to re-learn it ;o

Note:
there's still a visual issue/bug on the website, in vademecum page.
when you place the mouse over the symbols, around the inner animation the background get modified or displaced.
do you need a screenshot? maybe it's not happening for everyone.

The screenshot will be useful, thanks ^_^
We are working on some issues now and hoping to have it perfect for next friday

english has maybe a proper translator now :)
(I didn't get any info since the translator requested to work on the project but I suppose it's official)

Spanish release tomorrow, I'll try it just to see if I still understand it and for respect of the work did on it :P

PS:
The site still has the graphical issue.
I'm on Firefox.

The download page has the inner graphical bug too.

If you look at picture 2, the "flash embed area" is bigger than the animated area.
you can see the "block this" tab location above it to see that there's a border around the animation. Maybe if you remove that border it will fix the bug.

And I think the "tutorial wifi" text is not where it's supposed to be.
maybe due to fixed screen height used by the website. if you have a screen smaller than 1050px or not using full screen mode, some text are hidden.

that thread contains multiple language project (it's like the main thread for all teams)
But I'll edit it temporarily to tell spanish version is released.

maybe a portal news? (but the website is in majority an english community, a portal for spanish translation is maybe not the best, sorry)

I edited the title to add release info :)

edit:
ROM patched successfully.
now testing it :)

I didn't know it had real time element.

it's hard to read Spanish as fast as video intro's subtitle when you are not used to that language haha
hopefully I understood japanese audio

I'll just try the game a little but won't play it seriously in Spanish, it will be too hard to understand and I'll miss some story element. (got only 2 years of Spanish at school)
I played up to the tree, but couldn't pass without the fire rune (I didn't download the book). But that's far enough for a test. I'll play PS3 first.

Excuse me.
Why was this game translated into other languages before being translated into English?
Anyway I am glad that the most difficult steps (hacking and translation from Japanese) were accomplished.

I would like to ask another question.
I do not own a PS3, but I would like to play Ninokuni. Is the DS version good enough? Are the story, gameplay and battle system the same?
If that is true, the DS version will be my replacement of the PS3, although I would miss the beautiful animations made by Ghibli, but nothing in the life is perfect.

The story is different, there are different, new or missing chapters.

Spanish was did first because ... no reason.
just Spanish speaking person translated the game while english person didn't.

Thank you so much for the patch! I was so sad for so long I couldn't play the game, since I don't own the console for the other one... It's working smoothly and everything is gorgeous, you guys are amazing.

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
