My Self HOST playground , a kina fork/variant of KiiWii's. I make these for me and normally don't share them as i did with 4.55, but people have asked and are asking so I figured I throw it up there. It similar but yet has some considerable changes. Although everything looks good, the foot print is small on both versions.

For noobies, down below is the video tutorial link showing you how to host on PC or Phone (Android using any web/http server app you want) I show you how how using
    my favorite one.

UPDATED (11/19/18) - Full Self host to V3.4 and ESP version to V2.9 Links below
(read the github readme for changes/update details)

Download FULL Self Hosting version 3.3 from here:

    https://github.com/KMZoilus/KMZ505KEX

Download bin for ESP8266 v2.8 (the COMPLETE bin has firmware+Exploit.
The "firmware only" one is just the firmware for the ESP8266)
    Get it here:

    https://github.com/KMZoilus/KMZ_505_ESP8266

    Log in: PS4_KMZ_ESP

    Password: password

Check out the read.md for all the changes. Thanks to stooged for his updated ESP firmware
I made some changes to it and added my Playground, now you can do all kinds of stuff
to your ESP board DIRECTLY from just about ANY device that can connect to it via wifi
and that has a browser , like pc, phone, etc. Upload self host files to it, delete files, change log in stuff,
server and lots more. Just type "10.1.1.1/admin.html" in your browser , no quotes.

connection to ps4 is super easy just log in! no dns, ip or anything needs to be changed and works
from the USER GUIDE and From the browser either one! In the PS4 browser type any address OR just 10.1.1.1

Thanks, will try as soon as my esp arrives, hoping for the next days :)
So far i am very happy with @KiiWii `s for selfhosting, works great.
maybe you can please answer these qestions too ?

is the esp version working on any esp device or only on the arduino version ?

Is the backup made with BG SD Backup all i need ? or do i still have to ftp in and get more files to backup ?
i have addcont.db with 20 KB size and app.db with 220 KB size. Is that correct and all i need to be safe for the rebuild database case ?

Working great here - thanks to you and KiiWii for this.
Just one question - to connect to the FTP server, I tried the prompt shown on screen - 10.13.37.9:1337 - but no joy?
Tried anonymous connection but I'm thinking it may require a username/pass login?
    I'm using the ESP8266 variant.

Afaik the dns on the esp provides the redirect for the user guide on self hosted closed connection.

Al azifs redirects to his when your connected to a live internet connection.

nice, so you dont even need wifi enabled for this method?

i use alazifs dns, when you test it says failed for internet connection, so there shouldnt be a need to worry i think.
and i also have disabled updates etc.

so i should be okay with using my prefered method of going into user guide since i dont like to use my phone/or pc to use these hostings thingies ._.

For esp no internet is requires.

Its just a wifi connection from esp to ps4.

Fo azifs dns you need internet connection but it redirects to his host page via dns you enter and should avoid updates.

this is the one I have
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XKV13SD

did find it was easier to program it using Windows 7, than Win 10 due to com port issues with 10 but once programmed its good to go, unless you need to update it again, but that takes seconds

That I do not know, I would assume as long as its based around same hardware and you can flash it with a file, then should be able to, I just went with the one that kept popping up in comments, was cheap for a couple of them, I have a spare if anyone in UK needs one, just cover shipping :D

i found the answer i think , well at least it works for the 4.05 and 4.55 payloads

    https://www.psxhax.com/threads/esp-...ds-using-the-esp8266-guide-by-codsworth.4785/

    "
    Compatible boards:

These are the most popular ESP8266 boards, but any esp8266 with 4M flash or larger will work.

    "

the d1 mini is a lot cheaper BTW
that board is way overkill you could use it for a lot more useful stuff
EDIT: ok i guess it's not
last i checked i thought the node MCU was twice the price of d1 guess i was wrong

FTP won't work unless your pc has wifi and you connect your pc to the ESP8266 SSID. You can always use a phone with an FTP app or another mobile device that has wifi if your pc is lacking it.

Yea, I was going to say that I ordered a 2 pack of MCUs from Amazon for $14 delivered. :)

Right now I am using a bin w/ the web host built in. But I also ordered a pack of sd card add ons for the MCU that I may spin up the 2nd MCU and play around with the arduino method for loading it, using one of the web host + DNS projects

Ditto for me. Although at first I thought I had a bad drive or bad chip, but it turns out just an incompatible usb cord (even though it was well under the general 3' max length for programming the ESPs)

There is a variant of the ESP loader that will host the web site from the SD card. So you can change the payloads at will by just changing the content on the SD card. Any "self-host" pack would work on it. The SD add on was around $9.50 for 5 of them (delivered). You can wire it directly to the ESP (no need for an arduino board) and you don't need to solder anything either, if you don't want to, just use some female to female jumpers. I can post the links to what I got off of Amz if you want? (What post count here on GBA before I can post an external link?)
