I'm to afraid of bricking it.
Since I've already bricked my phone once with flashing

And it's not really neccesary anymore...

However, it's still cool to say "My DS is flashed (H)"

I did consider flashing it to get a recovery code up..but I decided not to do it because of the risk involved..I''m quite careful with it, and I don't use many homebrew, I'm getting my ROMs always from reliable sources, so there's very little chance of bricking it with faulty software..
I'm happy with it, as it is now.

I didn't flash my DS, I saw no point in it. Yes it has some nice little features, but with my slot 1 and slot 2 flashcards, I don't really have a need for any of them. I also have one of the newer DS Lites that can't be bricked due to harmful homebrew and such. Also there hasn't been a bricker released for the DS in ages.

More people ended up bricking their DS from trying to install FlasMe than DSs being bricked due to malware, Which is a bit ironic.
Me too I have a slot-2 card but who wants to play GBA over DS

and I think my DS Lite is newer (Maybe 60-80 weeks old?) oh 60 weeks... I don't think is does... oh well.

I can only run homebrew on my GnM. But gbatemp is mostly safe but I set things for myself like, don't download it if it's under 100 download, posted today, etc.

Two flashed DSLites here. Both with FlashMe_noato. Health and warning screen removal was super. But since flashing them both, I see another benefit. D/L play ALWAYS works between these two. No settings on the cart, no updates, just DS interconnectivity guaranteed.

Well, to be fair FlashMe doesn't increase the Download Play compatibility to 100%, so it isn't guaranteed, but it does increase the compatibility a fair amount. This is because it makes the DS attempt to receive the Download Play image even if the RSA signature is broken (which usually happens when roms are patched in some way).

I only know that I have never had any issue with any D/L play I have tried. My main cart is an AK RPG so I can leave that patch disabled (enabled seems to cause errors with roms too frequently to be on all the time) and still be able to use d/l play (which was not possible before I flashme'ed the DSLites.)

And in no way do I think this applies to everyone. It was just a nice side bonus from flashme that worked out well in my situation. Only a very tiny side bonus. D/L play was never a factor in my flashcart choice.
But I absolutely love not having a health warning screen. Yes I know there are carts that skip this too. But again, that would never influence my choice of flashcart (because either way I can make it how I want.)

What do you mean by a fair amount?

My G6 Real had no problems with any games after I flashed the [receiving] DS.

Oh and gratefulbuddy, some flashcards have working download play without requiring firmware flashing.

I've never seen any actual comparison charts or anything, but I know that in general it does improve the DP compatibility, just not all the way up to 100%. It could bring it up to 70% or 99% for all I know, but it's not 100%.

Flashed a long time ago when I got my G6Lite, Passcards are annoying. I don't even know where my Passcard 3 is anymore, but I used to use it for Download Play games with other people once in a while. (I'd let them borrow the G6+Passcard and I'd Download Play on my flashed DS Lite)

Reflashed it today with the no autoboot version because I just bought an Acekard 2* and I want to keep the G6Lite on the Slot 2 without the DS booting into the G6.

* - (SRAM on the G6 is screwed up, sometimes it saves, sometimes it doesn't. Doesn't look like it's the battery, G6's self test fails writing to SRAM when I run it. Then I take it out, blow on the cart, try it again and it works. Yay, NES days?)

I flashed mine because for a long time I only had a M3 CF with a Passkey 2 and those thing are really big an fugly, so flashing was imo the only option.
But even if I would have had my R4 back then I would have flashed it. Thi health and safety screen REALLY annoyed me and it still does on my Wii...

Same here, passkeys were shit, and the health warning screen pisses me off.

Flashed mine almost as soon as I got my Supercard miniSD. The Superkey isn't nearly as cumbersome as older PassMe devices, but I still like being able to have my own DS game in the DS slot all the time.

I also hate the warning screen, so getting rid of that is a nice bonus.

Exactly the same reason I did it! I got a scsd and flashed it right away. Plus I wanted to play wifi dl with my bro and no warning screen is great

I totally didn't realize I did not need an official firmware flashing cart, and that I could flash via my R4/AK2. Just flashed today, since it can be annoying having the health/safety screen pop up now that I am using an AK2.
