Gateway teams are starting to work on Homebrew, Everyone start preparing to throw your money at them!

As a development team we are especially excited to announce the start of our long term dream to enable 3DS home-brew. We have long awaited the time to be able to start working on opening up your 3DS to the amazing home-brew talent. This is not a trivial feat to accomplish and it will take time ! In the meanwhile we will of course continue to enhance the GW3DS with rich features.

edit: to answer your question the_randomizer they basically just put something about it on their website. It would be awesome if they sent me a free gateway but I'm not gonna push my luck and ask

The "Rich featurs they are talking about are the region free, firmware spoofing and anything else they think up.

Funny stuff how they warned us of all the shit that their device might suck and not work at all at the development stage that led many people being dubious of their product. At least they were being honest with it(firmware) and actually upped their quality...woah.

I hope that the this time it's (also) real!

But really, Gateway team, you have my props for leaping the region-lock wall! Finally some progress on that!

This has made me incredibly happy. I was worried that we would be stuck only able to play <4.5 games, until something like this or scrubbing the roms or something happened. I'm hopeful that they'll be able to keep this device up to date, to the chagrin of nintendo.

You mean their refusal to support those who have 5.x or 6.x 3DS machines? Can't say as I blame you. I've given up hope on it ever supporting new firmwares, and I sure as hell aren't going to shell out more money for yet another 3DS. I hope someone can prove me wrong.

3D emulation for the virtual boy, Rad Racer in 3D with no glasses. Maybe 3D Missile defense for the Master System too!

Of course 3D porn homebrew will be the killer app... lol

it depends, i got my black XL yesterday and it was on 5.x and got a red/black XL today and it was on 4.4, i just checked on the back of the box and the red/black XL had the nintendo copyright with 2012 whereas the black XL had 2013
