Cbhc is totally safe. And very convinient. Don't use a pirated ds game, don't delete it and don't format the console while cbhc is installed. As long as you follow this rulea, you are totally safe. Trust me, i'm an engineer xD

I'm perfectly fine with mocha so far. But then again I'm not a very advanced user

It is probably not relevant anymore, but no one gave the correct answer. It is possible without NAND backup, but only with otp backup.
