Hello!

I've recently bought a broken Nintendo Wii U, it is a 32 gigabytes model. Disassembled it and noticed that the 2878D WIN-B2 is missing. Is it a critical part of the system or it works without it? Where can I buy that missing module? Searched Aliexpress and eBay but i only find in the U.S. and it is too expensive with shipping and import taxes etc.
It has the 160-0103 error, but it has Toshiba and Samsung memory modules. Saved otp.bin, seeprom.bin backups and logs. I've attached logs.

Please help me repairing this console.

Thanks in advance.

Isn't that the bluetooth chip/module? Doubt it'll work without it because you'll need it to connect the gamepad to. My guess is because it's a 0103 console, someone probably took the chip out and either sold it or used it as replacement part.

I have 0 idea where to buy those chips in the EU.

The gamepad works, connected, the module is for connecting wii controllers.

Looks like the slc has problems. The scfm.img file seems to be corrupted by the SLC that's why we get the error code for the MLC (160-0103).

Maybe it's a single block that became bad or maybe that's just the beginning og the chip giving up.

The Wii U generally needs all Wireless modules or it will missbehave

Thank you!

Finally found replacement module, ordered it. Is there any way to repair the corruption?

Yes, first install ISFShax, in case things get worse. During the install you will also do a SLC backup and it will tell you about ECC errors. A few bad pages are expected. Then run the SLC checker to see if there is more corruption then just the scfm.img.
After that is all done, you can delete the scfm.img and erase the MLC and then reinstall the MLC. If we found corrupted SLC titles (or if your firmware was outdated) you can also install them in the same go.

Dear SDIO!

Made SLC-RAW backup, where can i find this SLC checker?
And please give me a bit detailed instructions, how to delete scfm.img and erase and reinstall MLC. Downloaded MLC/SLC files via MLCRestorerDownloader and i can copy it to an SD card. But how to install it to internal memory?

Thanks for your kind help.

The instructions for ISFShax are here: How to set up ISFShax the recovery used there also has a "SLC Checker" option. In addtion you can also use nandBinCheck from https://github.com/koolkdev/wiiuqt/releases to check the SLC.RAW

After you have ISFShax installed (the Wii U boots directly into minute), you can go to the backup and restore menu and there you can delete the scfm.img and erase the MLC.

You can then follow Rebuilding the MLC section in Upgrade Wii U Internal Storage / replace failing eMMC to reinstall the MLC. But for that to work you need to have all the wireless modules connected

Okay, thanks. Now my Wii U boots to Minute, how can i boot to recovery again?

Checked SLC.RAW with nandBinCheck, the only error is scfm.img.

Same as before, you just have to select the Patch (sd) boot (slc) option in minute first and the rest will be the same as before.
Thanks. Everything went fine, rebuilt MLC, initial setup starts but after adding new user console stucks at wii u logo at bottom right corner and music is playing. I think this is related to the missing module, i'll update the topic after installing it. Hope it will solve this problem.

Many thanks for your help!
