With little brother PsVita being on the scene you would have thought the original PSP would be enjoying its days in retirement but Square-Enix is keen to pump some more life into it with another Final Fantasy port, this time of the Nintendo DS remake which was released back in 2006. This version was also ported to IOS with improved graphics and full touchscreen controls, details also suggest that the soundtrack can be switched from the newer arrangement to the original Famicom soundtrack. The game is set to launch in Japan on September 20 at both retail and on SEN

seems a strange time to be putting it on the psp but im sure some will get a kick out of it, i guess it could come out digitally for the rest of the world

Small life signs?
If the PSP has small life signs, then the Vita is flatlining.

Last week's sales:
PSP: 10,547
PSV: 7,551

PSP games are all over the top 50, too. Vita... nowhere to be found

Edit: Okay what the hell, this is just a port of the DS version from, like, 2004.

I really don't see the point in it. FFIII DS came out in 2006, so why port a six year old DS game over to the PSP? And why port over FFIII DS, yet give the FFIV Complete Collection horribly ugly RPG Maker sprites instead porting FFIV DS? Bah... This is really all kinds of stupid, yet it'll sell relatively well for a full retail release.

FFIV DS looked like absolute garbage. It's hard to have a darker toned, serious story when you have kawaii~ models talking about dark, complex stuff. FFIV CC just used updated sprites that looked better than the original SNES or GBA versions and also included more content. It was more authentic than the crappy DS version.

I'm just going to keep telling myself that they'll hit 5 and 6 eventually...
Im playing 3 on my iphone right now (best use of touch controls ive seen implemented for a while) and im wishing SE would do the exact same for 4. I mean you ported 3 from the DS just move 4 over as well. And make 5 and 6 while your at it :D

I could still always use my old android phone as a mp3 player but I get lost in the music and miss calls that way

It's been discontinued but you can find em second hand. It's the FiiO model K1.
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ nice. I've been using my BTR5 pretty much daily, got it in late 2020. Mostly use it as a desktop DAC though and the battery has already swelled up in it once, so I had to replace it. Some day I gotta grab a proper desktop DAC that doesn't have a battery lol

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@K3Nv3, Yeah, cheap and nasty earbuds don't deliver the best mids, they end up sounding really muddy.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, I got mine around 2022 (iirc) and it was brand new, never opened, and for £15 too compared to paying nearly £30 elsewhere.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, That sucks when the battery already begins to swell up. You considering on a desktop replacement, and if so, which one?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ damn 15 is shockingly cheap for that. Even 30 feels like a good price just given what a bunch of other FiiO stuff costs. Granted, not familiar with what those were originally selling for, so who knows lol

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
As far as a replacement for my BTR5, I don't really have my eyes set on anything specific yet but it'll likely be from either Fiio or Schiit Audio.

    Better than tree fiddy
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, Originally when it came out, they sold for around $40 USD according to FiiO's news bulletin. https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/54677.html

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, I would prefer FiiO as the better brand for a USB DAC.

I feel like headphones reached a peak even ones from ten years ago sound better than new ones
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@K3Nv3, all depends how much money you wanna spend. I had skullcandy headphones and shit way back when but I never liked anything as much as the headphones (and earbuds) I use nowadays

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ yeah fwiw I've been quite happy with my FiiO BTR5 so I don't have any specific reason to not a FiiO again. Just gotta see what's available and how much I'm trying to spend lol

I have the FiiO X1-ii, and love what it does, but the battery life is kinda ass and the sluggish, unresponsive menu makes me regret my purchase a little.

has anyone here played botw randomizer for switch?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
(not the wii u version, specifically the switch version)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Frankly not. That's like a 'cheat engine' for BoTW, right?
