I'm really into this now, its not as good as Hotel Dusk or Phoenix Wright but it'll do for now.

The animations are a bit weird to watch in this day and age what with the characters walking on thin air and on the spot when they are stopped by an object but its kinda bringing up old retro memories of these sort of games that seemed to of flooded the PC and then vanished.

Think I'll check out the PC game Undercover: Operation Wintersun, seen some positive reviews for that,

I hope I've got some spare time to test it this evening. Sounds very promising judging from your comments.

Point and click (or rather touch and choose) adventure. Nice graphics....though static. Like how REDS is, except you touch where you want to go....blah blah blah. Kinda reminds me of those "Adventure Company" games on PC. Puzzles and a lot of story.Â

Not my cup of tea. But for people who are into these types of games, it looks worthy.

Like REDS is what snapped me to attention. I'll have to check it out. As much as I enjoyed RE4, I think the original RE -- with all the searching and puzzle-solving -- offered a lot more atmosphere. This game sounds like it's more than a Phoenix Wright adventure, but less action than an RE, eh? Definitely have to try it out.

@uncleberg: Thanks! I had thought about that, considering Oswald's "feminist" stance, but I had failed to tell Audrey a wrench was needed.

How's the pacing in this game guys? I hope it's something a little more intense than Hotel Dusk.
Not quite Serious-Sam-paced, if you know what I mean...

But dialogues are not as complex and long as in Hotel Dusk.

wrench use Audrey to ask dr.oswald

I tried this, but... she won't give Audrey a wrench without a signed receipt, and Bartholomew absolutely will not sign a receipt. Should I not have Dr. Oswald told her it was for him?

I have been trying every single hotspot and conversation thread I possibly could for a couple of hours now and I wonder if this isn't like one of those old Sierra games in which you can paint yourself into a corner without the game telling you, and I'm left having to restore an old save or restart the game entirely...

@St_Zartan:Ms. Oswald won't give John a wrench without a receipt, but will give it to Audrey. Have John tell Audrey a wrench is needed, then send her to ask Ms. Oswald.
By the way, nice avatar and no, I hope this is not the kind of adventure where you can get hopelessly stuck without knowing it.

@xenon:

That's so odd, because in my game, she wouldn't give Audrey the wrench without the receipt, and I finally had Audrey tell John the situation, and John went to Dr. Oswald and made up a lie about the radiator in his office and hey presto, the wrench!

This actually sort of reversed my feelings on the game from arrrgh not one of these to this is clever as hell, because it'll be interesting to play a game in which communication and information sharing between the two leads is so important and puzzles might have multiple solutions depending on which lead approaches the problem!

Thanks a lot for the quick assist!

Well, that was over before I knew it. Here for a good time, not a long time, I guess.

It's well-written, clever, and fun if you like old-school graphic adventures, but be ready to grind your teeth at a couple of the minigames...

Yeah, I just finished it. Puzzles were logical, minigames were irritating, story was well written but short.

Hotel Dusk was much better. Can't wait for Professor Layton. Oh well, time to finish up PW3
