Hacking Can I still install Bootmii as boot2?

Nand restore is easy just select the red arrow in BootMii it's in the same screen as the Nand Back up.
If you have the BootMii folder on you're PC you can delete it from you're SD Card and the Wii will boot like normal.

If you want to get to pre loader hold reset after hitting Power on the Wii.

Glad you did this you're Wii is much safer now.

What are the advantages of installing bootmii as boot2? I was able to do so and now my Wii boots to that menu each time I turn my Wii on (if the SD card is in)..

I mainly hacked the Wii to be able to play backups off a USB HDD and I'm not sure what this bootmii thing is even for...

That should answer all your questions. It's also a nice app to have.

You'll want to set AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU/HBC and BOOTDELAY=0 to never see the bootmii screen. You can always change those values again if you need to use bootmii.

I cant install BootMii (hackmii installer beta2) my remote looses sync soon as it loads, even tried to boot.elf on the root of the card same thing

BootMii is a piece of software that can be installed as an IOS or inserted into the boot process. As an IOS, it provides a fast way to back up your Wii's internal NAND flash memory, and will eventually form the basis of a new generation of homebrew applications for the Wii. Inserted into the boot process, BootMii provides you with a "safety net" -- you can back up your entire Wii to SD in under three minutes! If you were to brick your Wii, BootMii would still run and let you restore your backup from SD, quickly and painlessly. BootMii also allows you to directly boot the Homebrew channel or other homebrew from SD, bypassing the "warning screen" and the rest of the menu.
