I've recently unlocked my wii with the letterbomb exploit, installed bootmii as boot2 and homebrew channel. Next day I started the wii with bootmii as boot2 and the system menu doesnt load, it's just a black screen. The homebrew channel works. I made a nand backup and tried ohnescharzenagger to get the backup of the nand to stock, but I get the same problem and also the homebrew channel is unaccesible obviosly, but I'm able to reinstall it with the bootmini.elf file from bootmii.
I'm getting quite frustrated:sad:
Thank you
Edit: important info to add. When this happened the wii controller stopped working. The blue lights flash but it doesnt turn on the wii , and doesnt connect. This also happens when im in the homebrew channel, the controller does not connect. Could be a bluetooth brick ?

  • NinStar @ NinStar:
linux is directly based off unix
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@NinStar, yeah but macos is only for mac computers and I have a Dell
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I didn't say you should use mac, that would be insanity
  • kijetesantakalu042 @ kijetesantakalu042:
@Xdqwerty If windows works for you there is no reason to change
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
just pointed out that if you use mac, linux is not much different when it comes to how the system is structured
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Every code is based off something they just made their own structure to avoid legal issues
  • kijetesantakalu042 @ kijetesantakalu042:
@K3Nv2 But it isn't based on linux though?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I like how everything is a file under the unix standard
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If anything Mac users sideload windows to use their programs
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@Xdqwerty Just run a Linux version from a USB thumb drive to see it. That way it won't mess your laptop hd.
    +1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, what if I only have one USB drive that I only use for installing PS3 games and I don't wanna tell my parents to buy me another one?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @kijetesantakalu042, I have Windows 8.1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    And it's not supported anymore
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Thumb drives aren't permanent just build a partition on it
  • kijetesantakalu042 @ kijetesantakalu042:
@Xdqwerty Also linux will be worse on the third party support
  • kijetesantakalu042 @ kijetesantakalu042:
@K3Nv2 The thumb drive is probably already partitioned fully
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, dunno how to build partitions bc i'm stupid
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You can use the same USB drive, install Linux on it to test, then just reformat it back later to use on ps3
    +2
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
if you have uefi, it is easy
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Even if it's a 32gb drive ps3 games are only about 18gb at its max
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
all you need is a root partition (wouold recommend to use it in ext4) and a boot partition (fat32)
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    that's all
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you can have them side-by-side with your windows partitions
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @K3Nv2, it's a 14 GB USB drive
    Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty: @K3Nv2, it's a 14 GB USB drive
