I've the first nintendo 3ds with getaway 3.7.1 and firmware 4.5.0, can I update emunand with a normal update or the 3ds will not support latest firmware on emunand and keep working as gateway?

It should be safe to update emunand, but you should really look into setting up a9lh instead (https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/). There is a guide somewhere around here to using gateway with luma if you really want to stick with a gateway flashcard, but do not use gateways implementation of a9lh. You will get a much better boot time, 100% boot rates for payloads, no need for emunand, and support from more than 10% of this community.

Restore sysnand (forced), and do the a9lh process again, only choose the screeninit.7z instead of the noscreeninit.7z during the process.

if "arm9loaderhax.bin" is Luma3DS:

screeninit: power on -> screen turn on -> screen turn off -> screen turn on and home menu loads

noscreeninit: power on -> screen turn on and home menu loads

since you are trying to use screeninit, I imagine you're trying to use something like BootAnim9. if so, try it out anyway. if it works, then screeninit works.

the new one doesn't use emu/rednand anymore. it's several hours shorter, requires much less effort, and is safer as well.

when did you begin the old guide? you could probably just start at part 1 of the new one
