I can't format with 32KB cluster size

FSCTL_ALLOW_EXTENDED_DASD_IO OK
ClusterCount=62828
FAT32 must have at least 65536 clusters, try to specify a smaller cluster size or use the default
In guiformat, 32 KB cluster size is the one that's Allocation unit size: 32768.

What size is your SD card? If yours is 2 GB or smaller, I don't think 32 KB cluster size is compatible in those capacities.

It's 2 gigabytes, is it ok if I use 16K cluster size?
Yes, use 16 KB cluster size for that 2 GB card. In fact, this is recommended for a card that small.

For SD cards smaller than 4GB
2 GB card - 16 KB cluster size
1 GB card - 8 KB cluster size
512 MB card - 4 KB cluster size
256 MB card - 2 KB cluster size
128 MB card - 1 KB cluster size

I just noticed that there's no bar with the time and stuff on the top screen
  1. Take out your SD card. * Restart and hold (Select) to boot Luma3DS v9.1 configuration.
  2. Select only the (x) Show NAND or user string in System Settings.
    • luma_config.png
  3. Restart the o2DS and update the 3DS firmware to 11.8.0-41E using Recovery Mode.

Is it possible to use recovery mode without a touch screen?

LOLwut?! I'm sorry, but I'm laughing at what seems like one of the strangest bugs I got to learn about that you're having.

Remember how I mentioned the o2DS, o3DS, and o3DSXL do not work if the WiFi module is loose or disconnected? The thing is, the 3DS series are horrendous with fail safes and redundancy when parts go bad and are not properly communicating with the motherboard.

I think your crash is due to the broken digitizer. Replacing this and updating the firmware should fix your system.
The part (you can also check other aliexpress listings and eBay):

Edit - Do you have anything else that might not be working?

General Checklist (may not apply for all 2DS/3DS models)
  1. Circle Pad
  2. D-Pad
  3. C-Stick
  4. L/R (and LZ/ZR) shoulder buttons
  5. Speaker(s)
  6. Headphone jack
  7. Volume slider switch
  8. Start
  9. Select
  10. HOME
  11. Power
  12. YXBA
  13. 3D slider switch
  14. Top LCD
  15. Bottom LCD
  16. Front & Rear Cameras
  17. Digitizer
  18. SD card reader
  19. Game cart reader
  20. Battery
  21. Charging Port
  22. Sleep Switch

The touch screen digitizer is working but the touchscreen ribbon cable connector is broken and I have to hold the cable in place or the touch screen won't work
I'm trying to tape the battery in place to have 1 extra hand

Is the flip lock piece missing or the whole connector, including the base, ripped off of the motherboard? Take and post a picture of it.

Depending if there are any traces left and whether you're good with a soldering iron, this is the part:
Edit - It might be either this one. Check and look:

The locking piece is missing
I'm updating right now but the progress bar seems to be stuck at almost the end
Okay, so that's a P6 connector. I don't know if it's possible to remove and add back the flip piece without soldering.

I see this individual piece sold. You'll have to look at the neighboring connector in how it's held in place.

If you require removing and soldering a new connector, this DS lite repair guide does a a great job detailing how you fix these:

Edit - Another method you can try is to hot glue to connect the flex cable to the broken connector. (Apply pressure while the glue dries).

***

If that's too much trouble, you'll either have to sell your o2DS for scraps or replace the o2DS motherboard (going price US $20).

Is the connector the same on the DS Lite? I have a few broken DS Lite motherboards with the connector and locking piece in good condition

Is it safe to turn off my 2DS? The update is still stuck

If those broken DS lite serve no other purpose than to be organ donors, go right ahead in extracting that flip piece and see if it's compatible with the base piece on the 2DS. I don't recommend removing and soldering unless you know the ins and out of how to do it.

Keep the 2DS charging while it tries to finish updating. If it doesn't go through after another hour, force it off through the (Power) button. You may have to use CTRTransfer again in case of a softbrick.

It's stuck for an hour, should I give it any more time?
Give it another hour before deciding to shut it off. Don't pull the battery out as there's a slim possibility of damaging or shortening it's life; let the battery drain if the (Power) button doesn't allow you to turn the 2DS off.

In the mean time, mess with the DS lite connectors to see if the flip piece can be removed and used on the 2DS.

I already removed the locking piece from one of my broken motherboards but I don't want to mess with the 2DS while it's updating

I hope Nintendo Network of Europe isn't down for maintenance. Yah, don't work with electronics while they're running, battery connected, and charger plugged in.

At some point, you'll have no choice but to turn it off. Report back if the o2DS still boots to HOME Menu despite the failed firmware update.
