Dreamlight Valley Rift in Time DLC

On my Switch I currently have Dreamlight Valley working, but would like to add the Rift in Time DLC. I've tried multiple sources for the NSP, but cannot get the DLC to work. Has anyone had any luck getting the DLC to work for this game? Game version 1.10.2. I've tried using tinfoil as well as DBI to install the DLC's NSP. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, update, and DLC. Seems like the DLC content is already in game, just needs to be unlocked, not sure if there's a different process for "unlockable" DLC rather than actual software. Any other ideas on what I could try to get the DLC to work?

I could never get it to work unfortunately, I was going to try and mess with it some more, but just graduated college and moved to a different state, I may try again in the future, I'll update this thread if I'm able to get it to work.

I have same issue, the game works properly (latest version 1.12.2) but the DLC "A rift in time" shows me the popup "You need to be online to show this content).

Installed using both Goldleaf and DBI applet

Hi,
Same issue here on Switch, the Rift in time DLC does not work. The quest are not accessible, Jafar is not visible, and the video did not start as this should.
Anyone succeed to make it works for the DLC Rift in Time via Tinfoil or manually with the NSP ?

I'm afraid, unless someone figures out some tampering possibilities with game files, it won't be possible without connecting to the game servers.

I am surprised this is not already possible. In this case why is NSP versions of the DLCs has been released if this is not working?
There is even a release of a A_Rift_in_Time_DLC_Unlocker_NSW from december 2023. Keeping looking for a solution for this.

I have played RiT on my banned switch without problem. What kind of problem did you have or why it didn't work?

This is doubtful. I don't believe that you've played the Rift in Time DLC on a banned switch. There are entire threads on multiple websites of people claiming for it to not work for them on a banned switch. You are the first of anyone that I've ever heard that it worked.

There's no reason for me to lie lol. I played it on release day, maybe they patched it later. I did notice with Storybook Vale that you receive a letter in the mail to activate the quest that takes you to the Vale, maybe they updated the A Rift in Time to be like that as well. Which makes me wonder if it's possible to edit profile.json to add the letter to the inventory and trigger the quest

I used the one on Tinfoil, and got two others version on others website + installed with DBinstaller with no success. I am on a switch 18.1.0, the last update of Dreamlight Valley of 20/11/2024, no banned switch.
The base game works well, but when I install the DLC, nothing happend, there is no video starting as this should and Jafar does not appear as this should.
Almost all the quest have been done.

I don't remember which version it was back then, but it was the one that came out the very first day.

I remember seeing the short video and then going to the pedestal in front of the castle.

Sadly, I don't have any save data without Eternity Isle unlocked, so I can't experiment with that one.

For Storybook, I will try to find the .nsp and check if adding the letter to the inventory editing profile.json works to trigger the DLC. I will come back later and let you guys know what happens

Could you confirm the version of DDLV you are using? You can check this on the main menu, on the option section. I am using the last one 1.14.
I am trying to find the 1.8, from the 5 december 2023 when the RIT has been released to do a test.
By any chance, could you share via MP your save of the game to test on mine with a tool like EdiZon? Thank you!

NOTE: I CANNOT ACTUALLY TRY ANY OF THIS SINCE I ALREADY FINISHED THE RiT EXPANSION, I AM JUST TRYING TO HELP.

DDV Version: 1.14.1 (or 38)
RiT: Version 0 (I do not think there are more versions of this)

I can't share my save data for security reasons since I do play online using my PC, but I tried to find something tied to this on my profile.json and I found a possible solution:

At the very end of the profile.json, there are two sections that mentions the status of the expansions. Here's what mine looks like:

On the first section, you can see Expansion1, which is RiT. I only played that one on my banned switch since I never bought it. Again, I never had trouble playing it; I even finished the whole story. Now, on the second section, it tracks the things I actually bought in the Microsoft store, which are the base game and Storybook. Why are they separated? I have no idea. Maybe adding this to your own profile.json file might work.

Again, this is just me trying to give options so you guys can play the DLC. I have no idea if this is related at all.

Hi dreamlightcollecter, thank you a lot for these informations. I got the 1.8.3 release version and RIT DLC from this time, I will try with those.
The information you shared are really interesting and this could be the trick. Do you remember if you started the RIT DLC on your switch or on the PC version?
This could be a reason why after "enabled" the DLC on the PC version, this 'unlocked' the Switch version.
I will check my JSON on my switch also and let you know.
