Are you wanting 3ds games to play from the flash cart?

Good question. I just asked (this is for my daughter) and she said no 3DS.
DS and GBASP mostly.
She has a New 3DS.

I know this is subjective, but without modding your 3ds what is the best flashcart to get?
The official wiki seems to be outdated.
This thread says get a R4iGold3DS.
Others point to the EZ-Flash Parallel (has better compatibility with Poke backups) or even the Sky or Stargate.
?
Stargate 3DS is at least the cheapest and most affordable option for a 3DS flashcart. Most of them you will find on AliExpress are clones, but they do support the latest 3DS firmware up to 11.17 as far as I know.

There are three modes on the cartridge you can switch between; NTRBoot for installing custom firmware onto your 3DS with the use of a magnet, DS-mode to play all of your original DS titles, or, the 3DS-mode for playing encrypted 3DS ROMs.

They range between $25-$35 USD a piece.

I've had an AceCard3DS X since like 2017-2018 (I don't remember exactly, time moves too quickly these days) and it runs perfectly as as a DS Flashcard and it's hella easy to flash the 3DS with it too if you wanted to do that eventually, just a lot of steps but I had mine all flashed and good to go in like 45 minutes.

Ace3DS X came sometime around 2017 so you're not too far off. It's a great flashcart for homebrewing your 3DS; although, it doesn't have the capabilities of running 3DS games.

Oh yeah I know that, my apologies for being unclear! I know that you have to actually install 3DS ROMs through FBI (at least thats what I used) but as a NDS flashcard it works great and using it to actually hack the 3DS was an easy process as well.

Are they really clones? I thought they were old stock that never sold from the initial batch. By the time it launched there wasn't much interest in 3DS flashcarts, and even then Sky3DS+ was better...

Team Xecuter haven't been around in years. A lot of their older products such as the CR3 Pro for the 360 has been cloned, the same can be said for many others.

The Stargate clones do not come in a box, instead it comes packaged inside of a plastic bag. The original cartridges have a glossy laminate on the label, whereas the fake ones are instead matte printed.

Like I said, I thought they were just old stock.

Sky3DS+ carts were available on Aliexpress until about 2 years ago, but aren't any more. That sounds to me like they weren't cloned, but were old stock which eventually sold out.

I bought two Stargate cards over the last few months. One came with original packaging, and both have glossy stickers.

PCB itself looks original to me.
Quality is quite good.

I haven't seen any Sky3DS+ carts in a while either, you're right about them being old stock because they've only been sold on AliExpress for a couple or so years.

Now that's something new. Some sellers don't package them with the boxes, but in your case, they do. They might not have been fakes after all as I had predicted, could be a re-print whereas the rest is original.

Only welcome deals are that low for me and they obviously don't work unless you scam Aliexpress by creating a new account. All other offers are more than double of that. In my opinion it's not worth the hassle when it doesn't even work with the latest games without going through hoops and CFW does the job anyway.

EZ-Flash has not offered great products, aside from a few like the GBA with the EZ-Flash Omega DE, but the rest has many problems.

This would be the best, specifically the one from R4ids.cn
R4i Gold 3DS Deluxe is a Gateway 3DS clone, and you cannot use the official Gateway firmware with this.

3DSLink and Orange3DS have the same hardware as the 3DS Deluxe, but with different branding.
