While I've never been to any of these conventions - I'm stuck near Lane Cove, Sydney, Australia, where there's next to zero conventions nearby - and thus wouldn't know about the finer details about what's held in said conventions, I'm kinda glad they're all being cancelled.

Every time someone goes to one of these conventions, they almost always have a hiatus with their YouTubing due to 'convention sickness' or some such, and while being able to meet with their fans is nice, I don't think the illness is worth it.

Plus, well...not SxSW, but E3; I'm glad that shit's getting cancelled. Losing relevance in the last decade or so due to the Internet enabling much easier and cheaper forms of communication with potential customers; abandoned actual news reporting for spreading lies and bullshit trailers (of which Anthem was the breaking point; just like Star Wars Battlefront II and loot boxes - hey, they're both EA games! Great job there, Entitled Arseholes!); and enabled failing traditional media to pretend they're at all relevant by having 'exclusives' and stuff. Oh, and the ESA needs to disappear.

I highly doubt Sony or Nintendo's going to return, when Direct and State of Play are both much cheaper, easier to make, and can be watched anywhere at any time.

I just have this funny feeling 2020 will be remembered by that time we panicked over absolutely nothing. Dont get me wrong the Corona Virus is real but we have blown it out of all proportions at this point ... panic buying toilet paper ... and just so you guys know I do have a good stock of toilet paper ready for sale ... its £2 a roll 4 for £7 HMU if you need some #notjoking #okkindajoking #callbacktojokeonsomeonesprofile

The virus is deadly, but the officials and media are hyping it up even more and making people go into panic mode.

Makes sense to cancel though not all would be necessary.
