my head exploded. mario and luigi, a new zelda game in the vein of the gameboy ones, and metroid 3 trailer? this was a very good direct.

Kinda doubting it this time around since they'll need a strong launch line-up to convince people that buying Switch 2 early is worth it. Especially if they're trying to sell the first model with an LCD screen again.
Metroid Prime 4, Mario and Luigi, Zelda, etc - this is the biggest Direct. Nintendo always kept their best games for last, it's because they need to make people buy their old console - when people are waiting for the new one.

Two diorama-style games is the biggest Direct? Hyped for Prime 4, but that's obviously gonna be a simultaneous launch with the Switch 2 version. Beyond that, the only must-buy for me is the Marvel vs Capcom collection, and I'll be getting that on Steam.

You don't like cute games doesn't mean others don't - remember, the world exists outside your head.

I'm fairly neutral toward them, but that's beside the point: the debut of two exclusives is not enough to make this the "biggest" Direct of Switch's life span, nor the best. You're correct that consoles traditionally go all out for the last year or two of game releases, but that clearly wasn't the case here. They're holding a lot more back for Switch 2's launch.
