need advice on vita stick drift

guys my vita stick is drifting and was wondering if there are any parts i can buy .
is my only option to replace the stick? how hard is it? any guide?

my vita is the slim one

Not had drift my self. But I replaced the entire stick on my vita 2000 due to the top rubber bit melting.
I'm not sure how good they are since I haven't actually played my vita since installing but I bought them but they were calling ting dongs, on Ali express. Easy to install just remove the back and a couple screws inside and drop the new stick in

For hacking, an updated guide is best. But when it's hardware, I think watch videos on how it's done on YouTube. I think best you can decide if It's something you can do or not.

Interesting. I had to swap out a battery for a new one on my Sapphire Blue Vita. It's easy, but I wouldn't DARE mess around with the rest of it...

Nah they cost like £2 each. I don't know if anyone has made hall effect sticks for vita yet. But also like I said not sure on durability. I did a test and they seem fine. Decent deadzone and circular movement

Since this is a thread about replacing drifting sticks, I thought I'd share my experience.

I got 2 replacement analogue sticks for Vita 2000 from China (dark ribbon cable, bare metal backside).

My old sticks were on neutral at (104, 113), (142, 125), and the replacement sticks at (117, 134), (148, 127). Also, the old left stick had an expanded neutral area, and the right one often drifted even more unless I rapidly spun it first.

One stick was a success (drifted very little), the other one not so much (drifted to the right). However, they aren't broken beyond the drift itself, so that's definitely a plus. In conclusion: buy more than 2, even if they're a bit on the pricier side for replacement sticks!

As for the process itself, it is very easy as long as you dealt with repair in any capacity. In any case, take note of:

• Getting a J00 screwdriver, or a screwdriver kit with a large selection of bits
• Carefully screwing/unscrewing, making sure not to dig a new hole or to strip any screws
• Lifting/lowering locking mechanisms on every ribbon cable holder! I almost got caught with my pants down with this one...
• There's no need to pull out the back touchpad ribbon cable as long as you put something behind the back cover, holding it in place

And luckily, all screws are J00! Every single one of them, at least amongst those you need to open the case and lift the controller daughterboards.
