That's conformist talking imo. We are the end-users and so, we deserve a lot more than that. For example, using assets from previous games was an insult, given the power of the Switch in comparison to its predecessors. SWSH were rushed games and that should not have happened at all, even if we had to wait a couple of years more for gen 8, a well finished and polished game would have made the wait worth it. Apart from the lacking storyline, bad graphics and overly easy difficulty, they shoved paid dlcs up our asses so fuck that, we deserve having our expectations high and of course, they being met.

Before SWSH came out, I thought they could at least do an option for throwing the Poke Ball, but they ended up not doing that. So I doubt they will do that for Gen 4.

Pokemon Snap only looked like they put real effort into it, because they let an external company handle it.
If gamefreak attempts to do another pokemon game, it is highly likely to just be another bare minimum effort cash grab.
